I use the L handle locks on all the trucks. Big advantage is they are all keyed alike. Easy to install and available from several dealers on the net. These came from Kaffenbarger Welding, New Carlisle, OH 45344

I measured on the truck so I could be off an inch or so... I measured 47". You can use the red or white oak planks (1X3") from the big box stores but you will need to plane off a little or it will jamb in the hole so tight, tight as a, well you know.

I recommend a hardener but it will increase gloss. It makes the paint dry very fast and gives a great surface. I did 2 trucks this past summer with Gillespie, one 24087 the other tan. Did a trailer without hardener and it was not as good.

Sounds right. I had one crate left, it is 76X48X16.

I have a couple of the crates out back but they are broken down, I can measure them later today. I put 3 on a 116 trailer, they were about 3 inches too large to fit between the fenders. I doubt 4 would fit. I could lift one side of the crate before I emptied them, and move them by crabbing...
