Brent, you have to drill the "keeper" inside the door out just a smidgen. All you need to do is insert a drill big enough to widen the hole a little so the new shaft can get past it to the latch. Kind of hard to explain.
When I got my A3, I got a SF97 and notarized bill of sale from GL. For some reason, even tho I had previously licensed 3 vehicles from GL with the above, the state of WV said no, they wanted a title instead.
GL was great throughout the process but it took about 4 and 1/2 months to work through...
Headlights are $30 or so each. Several have unhooked the CTIS, it can be as easy as unplugging the wire harness or going the whole 9 years and removing all components.
The only part I have found difficult to get is a tach sender. Everything else seems to be out there. Erik is the best...
Check the rebuild plates on the axles if they are visible. Mine is licensed as a 1993 but all three axles were rebuilt in 10/1998.
I think all the A3 trucks are rebuilds, I don't think any were built from the ground up.
