    Working on the M1078 LMTV

Other than needing to drill a few extra holes it just drops in and your heater should work fine until you get around to hooking the AC up. It's in the mid-90s here right now so I definately would like to getting working. We still have a couple of bugs to work out but its closer.

I believe Scotmandu has some. Try PMing him.

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

Here's what the dash looks like with the old heater removed and a couple of shots comparing the old and new unit. New one slightly larger.

LMTV Air Conditioner AC Main Unit Gen1 and Gen2 Details

Do you have the hoses for your set? Any electrical connections on it? Could there be an intermediate wiring harness that would plug in between evaporator and condenser loom?

Isn't the single green the compressor wire?

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

New door handles (with the same keyed locks) installed! Got the little clip for the lock rod too.

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

NDT - yes we need to get the coolant level drained to remove the evaporator. Running in to some snags as all parts were sourced seperately so the wiring isn't matching up exactly. We did get the new pulley and both compressor brackets installed but working outside in 95* temps on a concrete...

LMTV Air Conditioner AC Main Unit Gen1 and Gen2 Details

Unfortunately all the pieces were sourced seperately so no telling if the condenser is a Gen1 or Gen2. The drier came with the compressor so no telling what it is either other than it has a 3 pin round connection. So the setup, other than the evaporator is not simply a "plug-and-play" combo.

How deep can a LMTV go...

When I was in claims any flood that reached the dash was a total loss no matter what. It wasn't worth the years of people coming back years later with electrical issues.

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

With the help of Keith_J got started on the AC install after all. I won't clog up the board with another seperate thread but hopefully get all the info in here. Here's a couple of shots of the progress: 1) a trailer full of removed parts to get the fan stuff off 2) changing out the water pump...

Possible LMTV towing needs FT Lewis Area :D

In TX you can get a Class A or B non-CDL so can skip some of the requirements. I've been out of WA for 15 years and never had a reason to get anything other than a Class C while I was there so not really up on the options.

Possible LMTV towing needs FT Lewis Area :D

Makes me feel better about what I paid for mine. Can't believe the 1082 trailer that sold at Ft Hood for $2700. It was missing the center and rear bed posts (why the sides were down in the pics). Good trailers are only bringing $1000.

How deep can a LMTV go...

I'm betting every connection has already started to corrode.

How deep can a LMTV go...

No matter what he did to the engine whoever buys it is going to be chasing electrical gremlins for eternity.

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

I totally understand that. I'm probably going to be pushing my luck with the airbag but I just can't swing the kind of money needed to replace it right now. Of course the worst I'll likely be is 60 miles from any major metropolitan area for some time so not worried about being stranded somewhere.

    A/C unit questioins. M1078A1

If it's your auction then it's not an issue but you might want to lead with that. Since I don't have an A1 I don't know the specifics but would think the 1st Generation stuff - as far as condenser and compressor - would work, but the compressor bracket needs to be specific to the C7 not the...

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

Everybody's favorite online auction site has a whole unit for sale. And if I'm not mistaken it's from one of our very own members (not me by the way).

    A/C unit questioins. M1078A1

You might want to review site rules about posting auctions. What is shown is simply the evaporator which is the inside the cab portion. You'll also need a compressor, brackets, condenser (and brackets), a dryer, hoses, engine pulley, idler pulley, various bolts to get all of that stuff...

If it's a SPX product MROSupply.com seems to have or have access to most of the parts.
