Glad you're feeling better. I was down probably 8 of the last 10 weeks so know it sucks being sick.
Goat head is 170-180. I know that as my torque wrench only went to 150 and had to borrow one.
Since I don't know if I lost anything when the pump pulled the Jack-in-the-Box number on me I decided to get a backup. I found an untested unit on eBay and figured worse case scenario I can see how it goes together correctly and reassemble mine. There's also the possibility since I have an...
Tom, Thanks but that's not it. The LMTV is more boomerang shaped. The actual piece I'm looking for at the moment is the slide mechanism on the driver's side (actually think I've found one but not in hand yet) and a seat back which is closest way I can describe it, kind of shield shaped.
Not certain snce I don't have the trailer but I'd think the manual for the M1078 would show how the bows should be put together or I can take pics of the ones on my truck. Defininitly dfferent than a deuce.
Well I attempted to fix the hydraulic pump today. Emphasis on "attempted."
There's a guard on the pump and after spending more time just getting that off I should have shelved the project for a later date but pushed on any way. There are 4 very prominent bolt heads on top of the guard that...
The outfit NDT mentioned in the original post MROSupply.com is also an easy option. I just went in to find that washer (they actually call it a bumper), typed in the part number off the drawing and it pulled it right up. They do have a minimum number purchase - the u-cups were 2 and so are the...
Finally just took the pump over to Keith_J's house and he was able to get the spring clamp off (I'd been fighting it for about 30 min) pulled the nut (which after everything else being metric it was a 1" SAE), got the old cup out which now was flat at the end instead of having a lip, pressed the...
I should have known when just taking the guard off the pump was such a chore that this was going to be a nightmare.
For those doing this for the first time the pump is under a fair amount of spring pressure. After taking the four bolts holding the pump housing loose it shot across my work area...
Looks like I'm going to have to rebuild my hydraulic pump. That will be very sweaty and not something I'm well versed in doing. Better make sure to check the engine oil as it might be a while before I can get the cab to tilt again.
Crud. Looks like I need to rebuild mine. Lowering the cab trying to get the cab lock pin to retract and all I'm seeing are clouds of mist coming out of the unit.
Thanks but it's a good 20 footer. Any closer and you can see little gaps between things. If I'd been able to get a 2" roll of the material it would have been a lot easier and I probably could have gotten it on line but after waiting so long for the truck I'm impatient to get things done on it.
Got a late start on the truck today then the heat/humidity cut things short (80 w/85% humidity) but I got a few things done. First was driving the truck down to fill up the fuel. I've driven a lot of vehicles either in the military or ones I've owned and I have to say of all the wheeled...
When we lived in Kent the Friday exodus was never as bad as the Sunday return. It took us 5 hours one year to go from Ellensburg to Kent and traffic was bumper to bumper the entire way. I got a little bit of deja vu last week going through Houston. For being the 8th largest city in the...
