With the multi-directional articulation I'd think the Goat would be a great rock crawler within reasonable ground clearance of the pan. I've seen videos of it doing a 90 degree embankment with no problem and twisting through a narrow rock gully should be easily doable.
Nice additions. I used to be a claims adjuster in Spokane. Lots of a$$hats in the area. Mostly transplants from Seattle and CA.
Check with Suprman on the fender. He's parting a couple of trucks so might have one.
Do you think there's any way that "very kind guy" could get you a CAD drawing of the condenser brackets? The actual brackets appear to be hen's teeth but if we had a decent drawing with dimensions I'm guessing they could be fabricated fairly easily.
Well one thing I can say about GP is that their paperwork comes through pretty quick. I had the invoice and wire instructions yesterday afternoon, sent the funds, and had the Item Release form at 6:08 last night (just didn't check my email until this morning). Basically 6 hours from end of...
Most went to a scrapper and they were all pretty rough. The 2 I got out of NC last year were both runners (with very little work) in fact mine we just swapped batteries, checked fluids, then drove it on to the trailer.
Well you just missed out on one that was 90% complete. It needed some brake work and a top and that was it. Unfortunately for you, but fortunately for me, it sold on Monday.
I'm hoping the tarp is a split seam that might be resewn (you still have your machine, don't you :) ) - and how about those delineator panels?
Yeh this one doesn't look like it's been dropped while sling loading it.
I'm not that up on these trucks. Is the mount on the passenger side for a...
I am feeling better although developed a nasty case of bronchitis due to weakened system and an unholy amount of oak pollen at the moment. The Gama Goat was sold to pay for the treatment for my MS but the wife put a nix on that. She said since we were credit card debt free and that they were...
Luckily I have a friend capable of hauling it for me. He's a fellow SS member and can identify himself if he wants. I don't want to advertise for him as it's not his job just a good friend helping me out.
Well once again I'm starting a thread on working on a new vehicle. Here's a list of prior threads in case you're interested in my personal brand of madness:

Is there any way to head this off prior to payment? In other words if I just bought a truck in LA and it is coming to TX to be registered is there any way to avoid paying the LA taxes up front (they have state and county taxes totaling 9% and TX vehicle tax is 6.5%).
I was finally feeling back to "pre-treatment" levels and then got hit with a bad case of bronchitis thanks to our abundance of oak pollen. Another week of feeling crappy and I should be back to "normal."
With mixed emotions I must report the sale of the Goat. It was purchased by another SS member but I'll let him announce that, if he decides to do so. I'll get to take it for one more ride from here to AL some time next week so it'll be almost half way back to where it started in NC. Luckily...
As someone that also wants a LMTV maybe I'll be a little less critical of the truck in general and on this one specifically.
1) How did he do the AC? Was it a correct M1078 install or a cobbled together HMMWV kit that he made work?
2) Black in FL? I lived there long enough (and in TX) that I...
'07 or '97? Just curious as that'd change from a 1078 to a 1078A1 (whole different set up). Looking forward to your write up. The wife gave me the green light to go for one so I'm extremely interested.
Some impressive photography! Hope the rest of the trip goes well. Say hi to WA for me. I haven't been west of Spokane since we moved from Yakima to TX in 2003.
