Mine was the same way, looked like swiss cheese. Hard to believe that much stuff would been mounted in this thing to need that many holes. I didnt know what the holes in the top lips were for til I got the gates done, then realized they were for holding the rear door gates in the open position. Duh
If your really serious about a dump, I personally would recommend putting a hydraulic lift on it, and leaving the frame to stay in place and just lift the bed. Like a normal dump truck. Ive seen it done, and it seems like it would be more reliable, and safer on all the parts, then to modify...
Ha, ok, progress should be quick and easy. Cut the sides off, replace the wood and paint.
Im not sure what the length is, I go on duty tomorrow, Ill get some pics of my actual trailer and the length of it.
If ya don't mind me hijacking and posting in your thread Ill keep ya updated, like I...
Yeah, definitely worth it, cut the sides off and get some back, and re do some of the wood, plenty of room for Smokey, Santa and some helpers. We usually have a big wood bench our Conservation Camp made from redwood from the State Forest sitting on the end and Santa sits there. But this is just...
This one isn't mine, thought I had pics of mine, but I cant find em.
But this is a cotton module trailer.
I paid 300 bucks for it, Im hoping I can make a little back when I cut the sides off and take it all in for recycle
That is pretty cool!.
I just bought an old cotton module trailer for use as a float for our fire prevention dept to use during parades. It gained me some points with our dozer operators, cuz we usually unload the bulldozer from the transport and use the transport as the float. usually put the...
I say front too. THen you have more trailer and overhang if need for a larger or longer load. Put it on the back and you severely limit the size of the load you can carry. Plus then the weight of the crane is over the drivers.
More justification...
It looks to me like the trailer frame is...
When I brought remnants of my wood from my 1952 M101 to the lumber mill to have new wood made, thats exactly what they told me. White oak is stronger and lasts longer, and thats what the old wood from my 52 was, so thats what I replaced it with. In this area, we have a version of it called...
Id like to get some ideas from you guys...
I have the boarding ladder to make getting in the back easier when camping or loading or unloading stuff from the trailer. I kinda wanna be able to leave the tailgate closed when camping, but don't know what to do about getting the ladder secured to...
Well for the FIRST time EVER, i hooked the trailer up to the Power Wagon! I then made a little over 60 mile round trip to a buddy's house to work on the bed sides of the Power Wagon. Took about an hour one way! Wont be getting any speeding tickets in this truck!! :)
Anyway, as is the case with...
Take a cruise thru my M101 album, link below. It has pics of my front mounted spare. I know the guy that built the holder, if interested I can see if he has any left.
