Thanks Mark. I'll give that a try tomorrow as I'm pretty shot today. Even with most of the work on the radiator done Friday and Saturday it still took us close to 3 hours to get everything finished. Every little hose, bracket, bolt, etc seems to be in such a position as to have about 1/100th"...
Well one step forward and two steps back. We got the radiator all in and buttoned up (TexAndy decided he doens't really won't one after all now that he's tried wrenching on it), filled the left radiator tank through the hose fitting, filled the pressure tank, fired it up and heard major leaking...
Glad it works well. I don't know why I didn't think to drop a tube of the cornhead grease in the box for you. I have a case of it and doubt I'll use that much in a lifetime.
I appreciate the offer. Depending on his schedule Keith_J helps out quite a bit and TexAndy when he can take a whole day as it's a pretty good drive for him. I'll get it done before next Saturday's show one way or another.
Well we're down to the last few hours of voting so just wanted to refresh the memories of those who haven't voted or didn't read the thread from the beginning. This is what the Goat looked like as of Feb 5 of this year and what it wound up looking like mid-April of this year. That all came...
Radiator is done and I'll be picking it up this morning. With a little luck and determination (and not having lost any of the hardware) I should have it in by the end of the weekend so we'll be good to go for next Saturday's Cruise in. It's about a 30 mile drive each way but I should be able...
You don't have to be a fan of the Goat to vote for it. We take all kinds.
Kind of disappointed to see someone who actually wrote a book about the M561 (which I purchased) didn't vote for it.
The August Cruise is a week from tomorrow (Aug 8th). Just a reminder that it is no longer at Lowes but at the Oak Hills Church on the west side of I-10. I'm still working on my radiator issue but with a little luck will make it.
I'd also like to thank those voting for the Goat but also all those that have helped me with it from the recovery in January to scrapping, sanding, finding parts, painting, driving halfway across the country for tires and everything in between. Most of those folks are part of this community so a...
Welcome from another Texan. We try to make it to Ireland every couple of years and should be over next spring. Would love to swing by to see your collection.
Only a couple of days left to get your votes in. While I'd love everyone who hasn't voted yet to vote for the Goat I'd also like to see some votes for Piper Cub and Wheelspinner. Those guys have great trucks and deserve some recognition too. If I hadn't already voted I'd spend it on one of them.
Plan on extra time to get through the Visitors Center. If you're early to your appt it's not that big a deal but if you get tied up checking in it might cause issues. (and that was a joke about the trailer. Hopefully no one would ask about driving one off post)
Well I could waste money hauling it around to a couple other shops and waiting for 2 or 3 days for each of them to write an estimate on it to maybe save $100 or I can have it done by Friday. I choose to get it done and over with so I can go back to enjoying it.
Ok the Goats only ahead by 2. All of you folks that voted for him need to go out and find 1 more person to do the same. Your side's winning but only by a hair and it's 4th and goal in the 4th quarter. Let's move it into the end zone! (apologies for those who are not football fans).
