So I decided to fix my rocker arm/valve cover leaks and Im stuck on the manifold, literally. This guy wont budge. I have removed all the bolts and what not as described in TM9-2320-289-34/3-4. Any advice on how to get this guy off?
M1009, TH400. I recently(month or so ago) replaced the output shaft seal on my vehicle, and noticed the other day that I was leaking atf again. I got under the truck and found the tcase extension had a chip on it and that was causing me to leak again. Im thinking about putting some JB Weld on...
So my fuel gauge stopped working, showed around 1/4 of a tank when full. I went through the TMs, followed the directions, and everything pointed to a faulty gauge. I was able to get a take off gauge from a fellow member here(free of charge) the only thing wrong with it was the needle was...
I agree with cpf240 regarding sockets. I had all kinds of gremlins with mine and it ended up being bulb sockets...replaced all of them in the front and rear, no more gremlins. They can be had at lmc.
So I'm under the hood working on a leak and move the cluster of wires coming from the firewall and this green one comes out, see pics below. I can't seem to find where it should connect, anyone know? If not, which TM would this be found in? After I get the kids fed, I'll be going back out to...
Sounds like something is grounding out to me. I had big time issues with all my lights when I acquired my money pit:). After tracing everything out, I ended up replacing all of the lamp sockets in the front and rear, problem solved for me. I purchased them all from lmc.
Yes I clean the crossmember thoroughly. I used the felpro gasket with some hi tack gasket sealant beforehand. The gap your seeing I saw as well, it appears the top of the front lip of the pan is bent up, however, I don't see any seepage of oil from that area.
Update. I splurged and paid someone to do the timing seal and balancer. My wife and daughter were very happy that I was not under the truck this weekend, and so was my back. Long story short, I picked up the truck today and parked it in its usual spot and guess what, it still has a leak...
Thats exactly what its doing. I will be stopping by the parts store sometime this week and picking up the seal and ordering a new balancer. Guess I know what my next project is...aren't these vehicles fun:neutral:
Thanks all for the advice.
I read a few posts about the harmonic balancer but I haven't checked it. To be honest Im not sure how to check it, guess I need to spend some more time in the TMs. If it were the seal behind the HB, would this explain why its not a constant leak?
So I completed the oil pan gasket/broken bolt extraction project this weekend thinking I had resolved my oil leak issue. It still leaks. I was certain the leak was coming from the front lip of the oil pan between the two bolts there, but apparently its just running down from behind the pan and...
