That's not so bad. I will ask here if I win one.
Re: manuals. I appreciate your thanks. Every dollar that I save someone by providing a free manual, is money saved from the PDF selling mafia. Please link to my website so that my manuals rank highly in search engines.
As always, feel free to...
I sometimes get an itch to get a 5 ton or an M35, with some business justification also (moving surplus equipment, as my business is selling industrial surplus).
The nearest base is Sparta, WI, and I am near Chicago, which is about 3.5 hour drive at the speed limit.
If, hypothetically, I win...
I agree that it is pricey, I am taking a gamble with it. I once bought some old L423D Cummins diesels that sat for 15 years, and those had rubber seals inside injection pump that rotted out, had to be rebuilt. Same may apply to this welder. Or maybe it is seized from water.

The military rates everything for performance in rarefied air at 10,000 feet above sea level at 100% duty cycle.
Judging by the horsepower of the Perkins, this is a 500A welder. I will see.
I will report on its recovery and whether it runs.
I do not worry too much about the brakes, it is only a 2.5 hour ride and if I keep good enough distance and go slow, I will be just fine. I have done it before. The highway will be very empty.
I did not preview the unit, unfortunately.

I won this "Welding shop on wheels". A hobart diesel welder on a generator type trailer, with some cabinets.
4940 - Miscellaneous Maintenance Equipment at Government Liquidation
I am wondering what is the civilian equivalent of this Hobart welder.
Still wondering if it works. Gotta go...
Guys, CDL is NOT the issue! I am getting a CDL in a couple of weeks, in any case. I do not want to get into any CDL discussion.
The question is, can I get a DOT number for a Deuce to use it commercially to haul cargo (auction surplus items).

I am thinking about using a M35A3 or A2 as a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV), to haul cargo and pull trailers in order to further my own commercial enterprise. (not to haul others cargo, something that I do not believe makes a lot of difference in the eyes of the law).
I am aware that I need a...
I am wondering about something.
If I look at M917 dump trucks from a PURELY UTILITARIAN perspective, completely disregarding their visual appeal:
How suitable are they really for being used commercially as a surplus hauling vehicle and to pull trailers?
Are they unreliable in real life use...
Just two 4x4s would have prevented that sinking.
I have a similar, non-folding crane, and I use it quite often. Most harbor freight stuff is utter junk, but not my crane.

Nice to see the friendly, familiar smokstak crowd,
My Onan DJE had an external solenoid. It was bad. I replaced it with some unrelated solenoid and made a simple adapter. Worked great every time.
