Yes, I am also very concerned, with the long wheelbase. We may put some timbers in front of the "hump" to lessen the effect. Also, we will try to lift the beaver tail up a bit before the whoe truck drives over the hump, for the same reason. I will go together with my driver.
I won the following items:
1) M927 Truck in Indianapolis: http://www.govliquidation.com/auction/view?auctionId=6298764
2) M931A2 Semi tractor in Sparta, WI: http://www.govliquidation.com/auction/view?auctionId=6292728
I wanted to try to use both of them in my commercial activities of buying...
One on each trip. I just won one M931A2 semi tractor in Sparta, WI and one M927 cargo truck with 20 foot bed in Indianapolis. So I have to make one trip to WI and one trip to IN.
Attached is a picture of my semi trailer (never mind the scrap).
It is a beaver tail trailer. The tail hydraulically opens and lowers down, providing a ramp, maybe 15 degrees or so. It also has a winch.
Can I use it to recover those 5 ton trucks and BMY semi tractors? They can just drive on...
I am eyeing several M925 trucks with tires looking like they are regular commercial tires like on my other commercial trucks. What are they? 11R22.5 perhaps? thanks
I am thinking quite seriously about buying an M923A1 ans use it as a commercial vehicle or perhaps to pull a heavy boat. (I buy and sell surplus equipment and have a semi, dump truck etc, so this would not be the first heavy vehicle for me)
But I want to know some realities of owning one, so...
Hi guys, some of you may remember me, I created a website liberatedmanuals.com a few years ago.
I have a "surplus business" and I mostly buy and sell industrial equipment. A part of that is that I buy scrap metal and scrap machines.
I have a semi truck and a couple of semi trailers.
I am...
M45A34, I am drooling!
My own pleasure is that the machine has only 2 hours on it. Kind of neat. It also came with a screw compressor and a hobart wire feed.
Anyhoo, I am wondering if anybody has that manual for free download.
I do run a website liberatedmanuals.com, with all military TMs...
Guys, sorry for a dumb question, but is non-biodiesel still available?
Unlike, say, truckers, I may need to store my fuel for years. I do not want that biological stuff rotting.
i
I stopped at the pump to buy some diesel fuel for my "welding shop on wheels" and home generator, and perhaps even for a Ford L9000 semi tractor that I still have to pick up from auction.
I was slightly spooked by a sticker that said "B-20 biodiesel" up to 20% biological fluids. Plus itis low...
Well, I brought it home (to my warehouse).
It started after a minute of cranking and a shot of ether.
Seems to run great. I was afraid that the engine rusted and stuck, but no, it seems to work without problems! Full of engine oil and has some diesel fuel also, but likely needs antifreeze, I...
