the truck lift points are the same for the m35 and m109 it is the pin on the rear spring mount and the shackles in the front the rings on the bottom of the bed are just guides for the lift strap.the bed lift points are strong enough to pick the bed up they will at minimun hold 1250lbs each ...
the shackles on the top four corners of the m109 box are for lifting the bed of the truck with a crane or wrecker.not tie down points even though they could be used for that . look at the tms about removing the bed you will see what i am saying
i have my boost gage in that spot so i have four gages in the bottom row.i cut a slit in it so it lights up the same as the rest of them to works out real good
i like the extended tow bar idea.but i think you would be better off going to the front lift points on the bed .they are made for lifting not pulling.if you go to the front one it will have more vertical load than it would on the back ones. this will help keep things from twisting and bending...
having the tow bar mounted on the front bumper puts about as much weight as having two passengers in the front seat.or the same as having some snow on the truck but not as much as having mud under it from going offroad. these trucks were built to haul 10000lbs all day long and can take much more...
well if you dont want to go in the front why not go between the bed rails above the frame and below the bed croos members?it would be hidden and wouldnt get packed full of mud like it would if you put it on the outside of the frame in the back
ya it is but alot of guys do it even with winches and i havent heard any complaints. also you have a m109 that has alot of weight in the back balancing things out.a tow bar weighs what 200lbs .thats not gonna make a noticable difference
4000 for a clean drop side isnt to bad. does it have heat?air shift front ? spring seat for the driver . if it has those and is rust free and only minimal leaks i would say go for it . but 4000 for a reg a2 is too much you can get them all day long from private owners for 2500 for a fairly clean...
that truck is everything a modded deuce should be .wow just awsome its great to see someone still know how to make a truck bigger and badder :driver:my christmas list just got longer for next year:drool:
i cant even imagine running a deuce with 11.00s at 45 in high gear you must be lugging the heck out of it be carefull you can throw a rod like that. if you are running those speeds in 4th why not just shift to 5th and take it up to around 55 as that would be around 2400rpm.top speed with 11.00s...
ya sometimes i go 50 in mine .then i put it in od and take it up to 69mph.Guess i must like changing engines:confused:oh wait i've been driving it over 7yrs like that no problems .Ya i'm sure keeping it under 65 would probably be a little easier on it but the governed them at 2600 for a reason...
i get 14 pulling my m105 at those speeds .i have a disease that makes my foot go to the floor whenever i drive my deuce [thumbzup]i would be happy to be able to maintin speed in hills and wheen pulling a big trailer in head winds.i have been wanting to swap a cummins into my truck for a long...
deuces ussually get around 10mpg and five tons around 6mpg. of course they have firewalls.but they are not insulted so there is alot of heat transfer from the engine to the cab.some 5 tons you need a cdl some you can drive without just depend on which one it is. anything over 26000lbs will need...
15.5s are actually 46.7 inches tall top speed is 69mph gps verified.how about 4.90s with 46s how big of a parachute would you need to stop it from that speed
sorry i meant in heavy duty trucks. only a few years they ran a 700 in a 1 ton with a 6.2 .the military did things they stopped doing in the civy world. but there are always exceptions as you can order some crazy stuff that isnt in the option list.
well i would guess the engine weighs the same as the ldt. the bellhousing flywheel and clutch is heavierthe ldt is 1650 with rad. so would think the lds wouldnt be much more than maybe 1800,since it is the same block head intake water pump and accessories
that is just crazy the crate weighs more than the engine. did they use the crates as bomb shelters when they didnt have engines in them:roll:i need one incase we have a tornado .
