You can call your local law enforcement and ask them your options- if you have the paid in full invoice, you own the trailer. You can flat out say he stole it, which, by hooking a trailer that wasn't his to his truck, he DID steal it. Whether or not the GL guy 'told' him too, he is at fault as well.
I had the exact same thing happen to me with a drill press at Little Creek VA. The guy loaded mine up on someone elses truck. I got there and said, 'this isn't mine.' and showed the pics. GL guy told me I should want this one instead, as it has a stand. But it was missing a motor, and an arm on...
I may tow it to Haspin so I will have something to trailride in, but I'm worried about the low departure angle the rear railgear gives the truck. What do you guys think?
The rail-gear is hydraulic, with a separate pump for each end. The wiring plug was removed for some reason from the rear pump, I had to rewire it temporarily.
Here are some videos!
The last one is a surprise! :-D
Heres some before the maiden voyage on the rails. Had all new fluids and filters, and the alts are almost new. Dash sucks. My buddy kept sneaking into the pics.
I finally got my cable for the camera, here are some photos of the pickup at Ft Stewart. I passed this loader on the way there. It had bumper numbers and blackout lights. More to follow, including video of the truck on the rails!
I don't see anything wrong with those trucks, maybe a few missing parts, but no torch burns etc
Why lowboy transport? Get the 5 ton running, tow the water truck with it. Duh! :-D
Looks great MD!
I've got a Looonnng way to go before my 109 is ready for Haspin...
Need to put the driver door back on, get glass replaced on driver window, change a few tires, PM everything, change oil, finish installing VIC-1 kit, clean out box so I can sleep in it, load either the 1008 or...
Um...
Drop a suburban body onto the deuce frame? Or better yet, use the 6x6 deuces as an off road mud truck! imagine that!
I really hate when guys totally cut up good trucks. There are tons of rears out there from all the bobbers. A front wouldn't be too hard to get either.
If I had...
K.I.S.S.
When Alredneck got his first deuce from Norfolk, VA, I picked it up. Tried to start it, but the batteries would short out whenever I tried to connect them, hard ground. Guess where it was? stupid digital light switch. I had a spare 3 way that we installed. I think he still uses that...
In the railroad M1008 I got a brand new set of triangles, a jack handle, but no jack, fire extinguiser, radio setup for a brick-type radio, and assorted dirt and debris. Glove box had a set of 8 brand new glowplugs...
I haven't even looked under the seats yet
Because it is a very well designed and tried and true engine.
My favorite diesel is an Alco 251C, but you ain't getting one of them in the deuce!
maybe the bed...
I had the same problem, I just unhooked the fuel supply and hooked it up to the injector return line tee. I don't really need it in SC much either.
If I can get ahold of some more tubeing, I will fix it. It did work good until the tube started leaking.
thanks for the hints guys,
I took the alternators to the local large electrical rebuild shop, they had a huge test bench. They did also load test the two hawker batteries in the truck, they said they were fine. I watched, they had that load tester glowing red each time and each battery still...
Every locomotive I've ever run has automatic pneumatic shutters. They are for the same thing Bjorn mentioned, closed when engine is running light or open when pulling. I'll tell you what, the first time you are on the front of a switcher and those things pop open behind you, it will make you...
