    2005 dodge 5.9 H.O.for repower

Thanks guys, but as HRD says, I am going to keep the L8000 box, because, well, I have it. I guess I'll just jack up my junk myself and measure the fore and aft of the draglink. I rebuilt the Spicer 6855 last night. Man, is it cool to see that mainshaft spin at 31% Overdrive when I kick the...

    2005 dodge 5.9 H.O.for repower

so you're saying that I didn't need to cut the steering shaft inches down from the firewall? :) ach. I wasn't able to figure out how to keep it so I sh1tcanned it. The box I have from the ford L8000 is VERY slow ratio. It will be very interesting to see how I'll need to do this. In fact...

    Funny Idea

Dude! I keep joking about putting spinners on the deuce. All my friends are like, "but they already make em in dubs (20" rims)!" :)

    2005 dodge 5.9 H.O.for repower

Oh yeah, spicer, don't fret about that only being 466 cu in. I know you're sort of joking, but you can hop up those IH DT466's to INSANE levels of power. I'd dare say 3053-splitting power. ;) BTW if anyone wants a spreadsheet that shows tire sizes and tranny OD ratios and their end result on...

    2005 dodge 5.9 H.O.for repower

guys Be careful on the long motors if you want to keep the stock transfer case... I am very intimate with this right now. I just hardmounted the 3208 and the Spicer 6855 last night and I will have VERY little room for the radiator. The long inline 6's are great, but when you put a real tranny...

    New age lighting...here or electrical?

Those are nice. I definitely need to update my junk's lights. Any more tech info on what brand / model of lights whatever? Bob

    M 35 6x6 with quadra steer 6x6x4?

Hot rod, I mean you will need to find a steering valve that's load sensing, which will mean that it will support return to center. Set up the caster on the steer axle so that the knuckles return to center, and then run such a load sensing steer valve. Without a load sensing valve, the wheels...

GOT MY WHEELS TODAY!!! Added pic of XL on wheel!

Dude you're nuts. And the luckiest guy alive - you find me a tall, hot woman that likes this stuff and I'll get you a finder's fee. ;)

GOT MY WHEELS TODAY!!! Added pic of XL on wheel!

Sounds like you went through the same fun I am going through right now. I am having to change throwout bearings and all sorts of fun since I'm putting a weird 6855 OD tranny behind the 3208. I am going to throw the input shaft in a lathe to mate up with the pilot bearing (it's only a little bit...

    M 35 6x6 with quadra steer 6x6x4?

Reading this stuff I know I've found the right forum. The Mil Veh mailing list is all about memorizing paint codes and getting just the right wire in the right place to win shows and enter parades and stuff. I just want a truck that RIPS IT UP! Killer idea, but I wonder if the steer axle will...

    deuce s-cam brakes

Also, pinion brakes will get thermite hot trying to repeatedly stop something in the 13k lb range, even if you are running 2 per axle. Seriously. Bob

Quick! I need to know a ujoint size on driveshaft

LDT 465 is out and under a tarp in the yard. 3208 is hanging there, waiting for some mounts to be made and installed tomorrow. I have about 6 hours tomorrow to get the thing mounted before I need to use the forklift to load the LDT on the buyer's truck. Wheeeee!

Quick! I need to know a ujoint size on driveshaft

Yep, Front and Rear-rear is 1410, which is what I run on my buggy. :) However! Boyce is DEAD wrong about the trans-trans shaft! I thought 1710 sounded a little big, but I trusted Boyce - bad idea. I should have measured anyway. F'ing thing is no bigger than a 1480 or so. It's about 4¾" or so...

Quick! I need to know a ujoint size on driveshaft

Got it! 1710 with the bolt on ears (called boyce finally, they called this a "spicer type"). Bob

Quick! I need to know a ujoint size on driveshaft

Hey guys, What is the size of the universal joint on the shaft between the transmission and transfer case? 1550, right? Cleveland style with the bolt on caps? Thanks in advance! I need to get a new output flange for the project tranny and I need to know that measurement. Bob

    16.00 R20's (52"tall) on a deuce! pic's too

Stazworks ROCKS. They made my 203-205 doubler in the rockbuggy and have sold some wheels to a local guy around here. He has friends in the trucking biz so shipping is sometimes VERY cheap. It's two "John"s - John Staz and another John. Great guys to deal with. Bob
