More input...As for the electrical harness, I purchased a NOS harness just for the lighting switch and turn signal switch connector and wires. Mine were well frayed at the connector and were bound to short out. I cut the connectors off giving me 8 inches of wire. All wires were labeled prior to...
This is the strange thing...I have never unplugged the master switch. So, After hooking up the battery, I am at a loss why the polarity seems to be reversed on the master switch.
I'll look more into it on Saturday.

PS - Thanks for the lightswitch diagram.
Just connected my battery and when the switch is in the "on position, I get no power. Then when I turn it to the off position, I get power.
Can anyone clarify that clockwise is on?
Thanks guys,
Warren
Why use recaps at all? Tires aren't that expensive. And if you are driving a deuce and can afford a 10mpg vehicle, put some new tires on it and enjoy the ride...i think it would be a bummer to have the retread issue in your mind while enjoying your drives.

Has anyone else noticed that the new engine stop cables are a bit longer than the old ones?
I installed a new stop cable and it has interference with one of the cowl bulkhead supports. I will need to dremel a cut in the support to allow the cable to sit perpendicular to the dash.

Oh just great Jeff!
It isn't enough that my wife dislikes my trucks....but when she finds out I've hijacked her furniture polish - I might as well file for the big D!
Welcome aboard Jeff...don't forget to get a Deuce as well. One mil vehicle is never enough.

The manual says if you drive with the rear window down to make sure the front windows are also down. The area behind the truck is a negative air pressure area...ie race cars drafting. I ususally have the fan blowing full speed too, but the diesel odor still gets in.

PS -Still looking...
Thanks guys. The paint is acrylic urethane (w/ hardner. 4:1:1).
I bought the truck a year ago. I drove it up until about 5 months ago and decided it was "overhaulin" time. I wanted the inside to look nice for when I take the wife out to dinner...in the desert!
Some of the decals are from Rick...
Here is a photo of my instrument panel. I had already painted it once and installed the gauges. My friend was painting his car at my garage and left it open and got overspray on my new gauges and panel. So apart it came and I had to polish the lenses. What a bitch that was.

I just installed the blue instrument lights. For the high beam, I took the wire cutters and carefully removed the outer brass cover. It is lightly folded over the bottom of the lens. Man that lens was in perfect condition! Now I have a full blue lens...not just a dot.

Hey all, I have put in the "low air warning light". It has a lead to the buzzer as well. If I do not connect the lead to the buzzer, will that effectiveley deactivate the buzzer?
I hate buzzers.

So how many of you are running with the third axle disconnected? And does it make that much of a difference in turning? Better fuel economy? What else are the advantages?
The reason I'm asking is this seems to be a mod for city driving. Thats where my deuce will most likely spend it's time...
Does anyone out there know if the various bezels for the instrument cluster can be interchanged? LMC truck has repro ones, but for my year (1986) only in silver and with the AC vents. The one I want is for model year 1978-1980.
Here is how they broke down the years:
1975-1977
1978-1990...
