And worth every penny! I thought the truck looked very clean. You can judge a lot about a vehicle by its interior. I would have bought it...but Dilvoy sold me his...and it was very nice too.

Does anyone have a source for front leaf springs for an M1009...one of mine is sagging more than the other, causing me to tilt slightly to the right...could it be the two batteries and my Rt-524 on the right side?

The paint I used was PPG Omni AU (acryllic urethane with hardner), The primer I used was DP 40 epoxy primer, sanded to 400 and reprimed with a PPG primer surfacer, again sanded to 600, and sprayed with the Gloss Olive.
If I do my truck like this, I'll do one panel at a time!

I got it from an indivdual, but he didn't have the SF97, so I contacted GL and they tracked the sale of the vehicle to get my my SF97.
Also, ask GL about not issuing an SF97 on some vehicles, as they will on some even if the ad says they won't...you just have to call the right people.

Thanks guys!
I unbolted the dash to paint it and stripped it to bare metal and removed all small dents. This is why I am missing the size of the upper bolts that bolt the dash to the cab.
An important note...On dash plaques, use the shortest scxrews permissible as they will interfere with the...
I haven't bolted the dash completely in...I was sort of waiting for someone to go out to their truck and remove their bolts and measure them for me so I could finish this article!
If all else failed, I'll run a tap thru it and install a larger bolt.
Here is what I thought was a good price. The truck ran great and I drove it 200 miles home...without license plates. It has 14000 miles on it and looked to have only one coat of paint over the original OD.
I am restoring her from the inside out. I got tired of looking at faded scratched paint...
Just assembling my dash and noticed it had a 30 amp fuse holder mounted to the left of the steering column. Does anyone else have this? It has a screw on top that you can slide the fuse into. I don't know what it was attached to since the wire had broken free, but it looks like it matches a wire...
So...give me a lesson on the M1009 gearing.
What are the issues with the gearing?
Mine will cruise at 70-75 with no problems.
I just took it to the desert and only went down some rough roads made of dirt. Then hit some sand and went into 4-wheel. I didn't have any problems, but really didn't...
regearing?
why would I consider regearing?
Here is how I use the M1009 - dailey freeway use to work, and an occassional trip to the desert where the roads are dirt and sand, but no rock climbing. Am I going to lose a noticeable amount of torque?

I began to run a tap through one of the holes and noticed it was hard to turn. It was cutting new threads. All four bolts removed initially easily enough, so i don't think rust is an issue. My truck has very little rust to begin with.
Looking with a flashlight, i can see the thread pitch is for...

Dash bolt size?
Anyone? Bueller?
The two smaller sized bolts or screws that hold the entire dash to the cab.
Anyone know the size? pretty please?

Roger...up and out.
I bought a new black GM dash pad and the attaching clips to have a good snug fit.
I will post any issues I had with the install for humanity.

I am putting my dash back into the deuce after painting. Can anyone tell me the size of the bolts on the side ends of the dash panel? The ones that bolt to where the upper door hinges are. I'm talking about the two smaller screws/bolts above the one big bolt. I tried 1/4-28 unf, but it seemed...
