    M1009 Torqeconverter type

you need use a Diesel torque convertor. the stall speed of the diesels is quite a bit lower, since it has a lower power curve.

6.2 tough to start at higher elevation

advance the timing slightly. its best to have a shop do it, since they can time it to see where you are at, then advance it slightly

New alternator gen 1 Light still on ????

mike, i wouldnt call a very cheap piece of wire that saves the rest of the wiring harness in case of a short, a weak point. you should be able to get the fusible links at napa. dont get the fuse holders.

New alternator gen 1 Light still on ????

no prob. that is a fusible link, not to be comfused with a wire. the link will burn up like that if too many amps are drawn through it, but it will although short spikes of higher amps unlike a fuse. only replace fusible links with fusible links.

you wont notice a drop in the oil level for a long time, doesnt have to be much oil getting past the rings to cause smoke. First change the fuel filter. unhook the pink wire from the top of the injector pump, then open the bleeder (black plastic screw on the top of the filter housing) install...

    Jumping a "Deuce"

big heavy wires dont help with the voltage drop, you'd want many small ga wires. look at the wiring lits for car amps, 4ga but very tiny ga strands braided together.

    digital camo humvee

I'd say thats a wrap as well, although they did a really good job laying it out.

    Who has a winch?

just remember as a rule of thumb, the rating of the winch should be at least 1.5 times the weight of the vehicle. so a 9K-12K winch is the right size for the cucv.

New alternator gen 1 Light still on ????

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: New alternator gen 1 Light still on ???? there are two fusible links on the 12v buss bar on the firewall, check that they aren't burnt or broken. if they are the battery wont charge and the light will stay on.

    diffrence between m-1028 and m-1008

the 1028 is more prized because of the limited slip in the front axle, and the heavier load rating.

All the lights are out (1985 m1008) FIXED sorta...

any alternator shop can rebuild the alternators, you just need to tell them that it has an isolated ground.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: towing/pulling in reverse i would say with an auto trans, you'd be likely to burn up the clutches.
