mike, i wouldnt call a very cheap piece of wire that saves the rest of the wiring harness in case of a short, a weak point. you should be able to get the fusible links at napa. dont get the fuse holders.
no prob. that is a fusible link, not to be comfused with a wire. the link will burn up like that if too many amps are drawn through it, but it will although short spikes of higher amps unlike a fuse. only replace fusible links with fusible links.
I need the isolation clamps for the fuel lines on the top of the engine, the ones that group the lines together. Please PM me if you have a set, I need them by the end of the week since thats when I'm driving the deuce home.
you wont notice a drop in the oil level for a long time, doesnt have to be much oil getting past the rings to cause smoke.
First change the fuel filter. unhook the pink wire from the top of the injector pump, then open the bleeder (black plastic screw on the top of the filter housing) install...
big heavy wires dont help with the voltage drop, you'd want many small ga wires. look at the wiring lits for car amps, 4ga but very tiny ga strands braided together.
just remember as a rule of thumb, the rating of the winch should be at least 1.5 times the weight of the vehicle.
so a 9K-12K winch is the right size for the cucv.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: New alternator gen 1 Light still on ????
there are two fusible links on the 12v buss bar on the firewall, check that they aren't burnt or broken. if they are the battery wont charge and the light will stay on.
