    Positive feedback/ Rep power....?

I just found out another way to leave feedback. You can go to the members's classifieds profile and leave the member feedback from there (there's a link in the member's profile).

Dome light install in a hardtop

Bill, did you swap out that switch? I've got a couple with bad switches that I may replace like that. Is the switch 3 position?

possible to weld differential in m1009 gov lock

I know the M1008 has some sort of locking diff. I'm not sure about the 09. To answer your question, yes you can weld it up. You won't like it on pavement, it will eat tires like crazy, and you may break axles.

Other power sources for sprocket-powered winch - am I missing anything?

If it's a wrecker drag winch it will be a Tulsa. It will say "Tulsa winch" on the end housings and have mounting holes in the bottom (3/4" I think). They are way too big to mount on the front of a deuce. There also too big to mount on the back IMO. They are a pain to use because they don't...

    Bobber 20K PTO Rear Winch

I see you moved the air tanks also. I had to do that with my t-case PTO. I found out that you could take another set of tank brackets and modify them to have a tank mounted against each frame rail. I wouldn't work in your case though because of the exhaust.

    Will a DT466 fit in a M35a2

I'm thinking the motor would fit but I don't think the innercooler will without grill modifications.

    Towing Safety (Please Read)

One problem I've had chaining equipment on a trailer is the slotted chain holes some trailers and rollbacks have. We've got a trailer that has the slotted chain holes for attaching the chain to the trailer. I have broken two chains using these slots. The first one I thought it was just a bad...

    Towing Safety (Please Read)

It's pretty secure. Every once in a while you'll get a machine with a badly worn undercarriage and will cause you problems though.

Other power sources for sprocket-powered winch - am I missing anything?

About the only real weakness you listed is the requirement of a PTO. A hyd system is no more difficult to plumb than an electric winch is to wire. Hyd is the most versatile system. You said it is a big winch. How big is big? If it's a 10,000 or 20,000lb winch you're going to have trouble...

    Rolling tailboard and rear winch

Ron, You and Kenny could be right. I'm still thinking about a design. These post help. Thanks.

Can't post a claassified ad even though I have 140 posts. WTF???!?!?!?!?!?!??!???

When I saw the title I thought "oh no, here we go again". You should be good to go with 141 post though unless they've raised the post count again for some reason. I'm not sure if this is something a mod has the power to fix. If it's an admin problem you could be waiting a while.

    Towing Safety (Please Read)

That's common practice to chain down tracked equipment. Not 100% sure if it's legal but everybody does it (including me).

    Rolling tailboard and rear winch

I see what you are saying but how are you going to rig it? If you run the cable off of the winch and over the tail roller to get to the front, the cable from the winch is going to be going the opposite direction of the load line. This would make the tail roller not roll and the cable will just...

How to secure winch 5 ton multifuel from not functioning

I always leave my winch engagement lever on the winch in the out position and the drum lock in. This way, if the PTO gets shifted into gear for any reason the winch still won't work. All drum locks I've been around don't hold good enough to stall the winch under power. If you leave the...

    powerstroke in a Deuce

:ditto: I'm not a big fan of the Powerstroke. I'm sure it could be made to fit if you wanted to though.

    New Guy with M35A2C?

You can get a truck titled in most states if you don't have one but it's not easy. A sf-97 is worthless to you because you're not the one that bought it from the government. I'm assuming your a good SS and read the TM so you know you have to pull the cable to shut it off ;). Is the cable...

Reverse Backup Camera on a Deuce

I don't really need a backup cam but one with a view of the winch would be a good idea. When winching by myself I'm always worried about my line piling up and causing problems.

    Rolling tailboard and rear winch

First thing I need to do is find a hydro winch. The truck already has a dump so a direct drive is out of the question. I've already got the hyd pump so a hyd winch is the way to go. I'm thinking maybe one of those hyd winches off of a HMMWV but am unsure if it would be big enough. I've got a...
