Tried to get to the unit ID numbers today, used a graffiti remover (didn't work well) and a knife to get under paint. No numbers as far as I can tell. The only numbers are on the glove box lid. Are the tan paint "boxes" ready to put numbers on and never got any? or are they deeper. What do...

from what Ive seen the first trucks have the green motor, mine is a '97 and has the yellow, don't have a clue of why the color change, but it seems to take place around '96 (my guess)
