also don't forget to trickle charge the batteries when not in use. Get a solargizer charger. I have mine on order. It charges the batts when not in use there only 50 bucks or less.
in my M1008 I had a couple years ago i was getting 12-17 mpg. Kinda low because of the gearing and all the city driving. Was a little better on the highway but not a lot maybe one or two MPG.
The multi fuel was made to run at WOT and full power forever. It was a "constant rated engine" Red line for hours and hours is fine. Really a 109 wont do 55 all day.. its kinda heavy. I would bet on the average speed of 45-50 to judge your travel times on.

hmm.. all the after market ones I have ever seen have a adjustment. the screw is in the vacuum nipple. Its a little one you need a "pen" type screw driver to adjust.
there should be a screw in the vacuum modulator on the passenger side of the trans. turn that out a couple turns and see what happens. It should drop the shift points a little. other wise your having the same problem I have and I am waiting on a new governor to get the shift speeds back in...
