would not go over 500 bucks. I paid 800 for a "runner" but it needed a frame off really to get back on the road and safe.
and the engine is a 302 line 6 GM engine. good power for that truck. it has a auto 4 speed trans also
Really the best place is Ebay. I have seen them as low as 100 bucks. Another way is to get the 6.2's off Gl. I got two engines for 175 bucks both with brand new pumps. One engine was a never installed and the other tossed a rod at start up.
well really the "pad" type are stronger and last longer then the full disk type in heavy trucks. The pads don't slip as much because there are only 4 small points of contact there is more PSI holding then to the fly wheel.
Time for a new turbo, or at least take it in and have it rebuilt. Looks like bad seals. I would not drive it because of the chance of a runaway engine.
get a new rear end. If you really don't know your way around a rear end its not going to last. There are special tools needed to set up the rear end. When the axles come out of the housing that means the "C" clips broke and that's not good at all. You can go get one from LKQ auto parts they are...
well a push button is 100% owner installed. Never came like that from the factory. You should be able to remove the resistor. But you need to make sure where and how the glow plugs are getting there power so you don't take out something you should leave alone.
thats the resistor for the glow plugs. are yours hard wired or something on a switch? o crap it looks to be a 12V chop job to me by the pics I hope Im wrong,
In my shop(s) we took the valves out.. 99% of the time they did not work worth a crap anyway. We would take the valves out and adjust the brakes a tad loose in the rear.
wait a min here guy... this is in the CUCV area. we are talking about towing a cucv.. blazer or pick up not a Deuce. You for sure would NOT want to tow a Deuce with a 2500HD. You would really want another Deuce or like size truck. Now I Know of one member who did flat tow a deuce with a 1 ton...
well most of the time your not going to be using all 3 at the same time. the GM Saginaw pump is one tough pump. Only time I see them go south is low on fluid or try to turn the wheels when there is no way there going to move and bust the input shaft.
like Recovery said.. tow it home. All you need is a 7/16 wrench to take the drive shaft off the rear and wire/tie it up to the under body. drill a couple holes if using a civy tow bar (there is a way to make adapters to use a civy tow bar on the cucv with out drilling holes in the bumper) I just...
well its a higher CFM filter. Should be almost a bolt in if you use the filter off a multi deuce and not the Cummins. really wont feel any more power... may help lower Temps a bit but dont bet the farm. I had a huge K&N on mine and did not feel or see a thing. But the 5 ton filter would look cool.
all you can do is bleed out the fuel filter. I have installed many new pumps and never had to take the lines off the injectors to bleed the air out. The last pick up pump I installed (5 weeks ago) I did not bleed anything just started it. It really sounds like the solenoid is not working. That...
