I'd be willing to bet that if sealant is needed, it would mention it in the TM. I would also bet that if sealant inhibited the electrical connection that they would not recommend(warn not to use) it in the TM.

If he had just printed the following pages of the TM(I posted a picture) the trouble shooting could have been done in less than 30 minutes.
On Schematic F-11 (Diagnostics Circuits) it is shown on the drivers side alternator ground stud.
You do not need it connected unless you have a military STE/ICE tester.
You do not need to disconnect anything, just charge one at a time with your 12v charger.
Read some of the similar threads and you'll find that you are not the first one to need to do this.
Consider a modern vehicle will usually need front brakes starting at around 50-60K miles and the rears closer to 100-140K miles.
You got 25K miles out of unknown(if they were new when you started) brakes.
Replace them and have a nice day.
