    PMCS Check Question: Fuel Filter

More filtration is better. I would not opt to remove the large canister filter. Many people add additional filtration as an aftermarket upgrade to diesel engines. The small filter on the block is prone to clog. It is worth carrying an extra one with you. The large filter on the firewall has...

    Distracted driving

If you're entering Canada, be sure to look at the individual province's distracted driving laws ....ht Here's where we diverge on mindset. My thought is that I have an ethical obligation to refrain from behavior that puts the lives of others at risk, whether or not there's a legal penalty for...

    PMCS Check Question: Fuel Filter

Some A2s have the big one on the firewall and also the small one on the block, and some just have the small one on the block. A word of caution - filling the filter with fuel to avoid priming results in the introduction of unfiltered fuel into the injectors. The cummins manual for my ram...

Deuce Crash - Subway drive thru.

I like the idea of coming up with a redundant system, ideally one that fails safe like full airbrake systems do...

Any restrictions on selling a m1009 to a guy up north in Canada?

You guys are trying to figure out what makes sense. This is the fedgov were talking about. There's no way it's going to make sense. The rules are arbitrary and randomly applied. How else can you explain that a bare transmission requires an EUC, but the complete truck including the transmission...

    M939 Inconsistent air pressure...

I begin to question your gauges. Your springbrakes should have applied and you should have stopped involuntarily.... you don't have cage bolts in place do you? I second the suggestion to pressurize the system from an external source and go leak hunting. ...

    Towing a M105a2 w/ civilian Pick Up ?

We're getting off topic, but I'm happy to answer that question. I didn't consider dropping it a big deal. If they require it in the future I'll be happy to take the tests and demonstrate competence. Think about it, shouldn't everyone who drives one of these things be able to take the test...

    Towing a M105a2 w/ civilian Pick Up ?

Crude, bruteforce, 1/4" wall 6×6 connected to the truck's frame via 1/4" wall 2×2 and 3/8" plate. I'll eventually get around to wrapping the ends around the dually flares. The pin for the hitch receiver uses a 3/4" hole and a towbar pin. I used it to tow my (loaded to the gills) M989A1...

    Towing a M105a2 w/ civilian Pick Up ?

On personal note, why did you let your class "A" CDL lapse ? Considering how hard they are to get I'll keep mine until I can no longer drive. I wasn't driving for a living any more and didn't have a personal vehicle that required it. My 1ton pickup weighs about 8300lbs. I'm in AZ now. I...

    Towing a M105a2 w/ civilian Pick Up ?

""The M105 is too much trailer for any civilian pickup, I don't care how you modify the trailer or the truck. They were designed for a two and a half ton medium truck, and even your 2500/3500 's are mere toys by comparison. ."" The M105 was designed for a 2.5 ton medium truck built with 1950s...

    Towing a M105a2 w/ civilian Pick Up ?

From your response I can tell you do not have a commercial driving license or driven a 18 wheeler with a fully loaded trailer.... I can assure you towing is a serious affair and should be treated as such. I realize this wasn't directed at me, but although not current I have had a class A CDL...

    Towing a M105a2 w/ civilian Pick Up ?

Would it be less of a concern if the 105 was placed on the bed of the pickup? I am sure a 1 ton could handle the payload. No trailer brakes in that situation either. Actually yes, it would be far less of a concern. Your traction would go up in proportion to the braked load.

    Towing a M105a2 w/ civilian Pick Up ?

My counterargument: M105A2 with 3000lbs of ammo cans in it. Towed at highway speeds with no detriment to braking (exhaust brake) and no pushing the truck around. Also towed on fairly rough dirt road without issue.

Bed height required to clear rear wheels.

Tomorrow i can take measurements from my M923A2 with super singles (14's) and you can extrapolate from there... unless someone chimes in sooner. The 14s on combat rims are going to be the cheaper option compared to 16s on hemtt rims. ...

Bed height required to clear rear wheels.

14.00R20 singles? 16.00R20 singles? Clear, as in clear for on road use empty... or clear, as in full rated load off road at full stuff?
