Erik's Military Surplus has regulators for about $63 bucks. Confirm your alternator is one of the numbers listed as a compatible. Super easy to change.
Just remove the screws on the rear cover, pull it off. disconnect the 3 or 4 wires and replace them on the new one. They are numbered and...

I've read many posts here, where people say the auto store tested their alt and said it was "good", when in fact it has had a bad diode or regulator, causing a slow draw/short.
The Kent-Morre Tach&Time is still available new, for around $800. Plenty used ones come up in online auctions, for much less.

Now, turn on the headlights...
Nothing stenciled under the hood?
Emmado, is there any records available(or ever written), that correlate an engine serial number, to a specific truck?
Might be interesting to see what the axle tag dates are. Or the transmission, if it has a rebuild tag(date).
So, do you already have commercial insurance on those trucks? Do you own a business? It seems like there would be no issue simply adding the truck to an existing business policy.
Bad advise, if you have a stock CUCV GP system.
AC13G's are 12V. CUCV's do not use 070 wellman's, Humvee's(24V) use them. CUCV's use 12V GPs.
Many of us here on SS have had nothing but trouble with Wellmans(050).
