I have no experience with a gpr100 relay. It looks to be an "economy" choice from NAPA.
I am not sure of it's internal design, but it looks to be used in some GM diesel vehicle applications.
I'd test it for compatibility, before installing one.
One other tid bit of info to consider. The Glow Plug Controller card is designed for a specific range of output load(the relay coil). You could see a variation in performance, depending on how far from OE spec, your relay coil is(if you choose any old relay).
If you do an advanced search in the 5 ton forum, for primer o ring, there are 9 threads(that mention the o rings).
There are also 2 check balls and light springs that get gummed up, in the pump. It's best to remove the pump, to service these balls.
The term "Ford relay" is very confusing and misleading.
The important thing with the glow plug relay is, it needs to have an isolated from ground(chassis) coil.
The original glow plug controller switches the negative/ground to the relay coil. Positive/+ is always "on" on the relay coil...
No compression. Sounds like the lifters are just stuck in their bores(at the top of their stroke). Are you sure you pushed them all they way down(recently). Did they move at all, were they stuck in the bores?
Are you pushing the pushrod in while cranking? You may need to do that a while to...
Have a meter with you, and test/confirm your new relay. Do not trust the counter sales person or trust that it is the correct part in the correct box. Test it. Others have been burned(no pun intended) when buying the correct relay. Just check it!
The glow plug relay does need to have an isolated ground (no continuity between any of the 4 terminals, to ground(it's mount))to work with a stock glow plug controller card and wiring. two numbers off the top of my head are GP109 or St85 relays.
"ford" relays are not compatible with the...
I guess I'll let the capitalization slip this time(with the fresh tendon issue)! Do you have health and emergency medical insurance?
Aflac comes to mind...
Did they say why not?
Is it you, your age, or your state, or none of them will do tractor trailers of that age? Throw us a bone...
btw, it's insurance.
