The intake valley is as dry as can be. I guess it must be the rear main seal. Is there a way to tell if a cdr valve is bad or a certain amount of miles you have to change it by?

Looks like I'll have to wait until Monday to asses the damage. If it really was a fuel leak that would make my year.

I'm relatively certain that it is an oil leak, however I'll go check. Are there any other leaks, besides the pan and main seal, that may cause drips at the bell housing?

I was reading the GM 6.2 Diesel service manual and they state a method of fixing the rear main seal without having to remove the crankshaft. I was wondering if anyone has tried this and had success?

I have a 1984 M1009. I have to replace the water pump plate, because the old one is rtv ed on to the old pump and I can't get it off. The manual says the part number is 14024208, and I bought one with this number and for some reason not all of the holes line up. All the ones I'm seeing online...

It seems that the dipstick is fully seated. I'm going to see if I can get some dimensions on the new and original oil pan. If it is a deeper pan should I still put the original amount of oil in or stick with what the dipstick says?

I got lazy and let a mechanic install a new oil pan on my 1984 M1009 Blazer. The pan is a Spectra GMP40A oil pan. I gave the mechanic 2 gallons of oil to fill it up with when he was done. When I came to pick it up he said I may need to put a little more oil in, because the dipstick was showing...

If all the electrics are okay, I'd be looking at that fuel pump. Did you end up adding some fuel and trying to bleed the fuel system?

I have a 1984 M1009 Blazer. I had some trouble using the gm part numbers from the tm to find replacement parts for the oil pan and U joints, so I figured I would just ask. Will the spectra GMP40A oil pan fit my blazer and are the stock U-joints on the drive shafts Spicer 1310 U-Joints?

Would it be a problem getting the brass bodied one, since they are different metals, AECS?
