    Brake shoe return spring

It must just be me since I have done several searches and can't find anyone who has had a problem re-installing the deuce brake shoe return spring. I popped the spring off for a wheel cylinder replacement using the larger Lisle spring removal tool with no problem. However the return spring...

    Ford g8t

Not quite the correct forum but close. Has anyone seen any pricing on the Ford G8T 1.5 ton. I'm researching for a family member who is trying to help a friend with an estate sale that includes one that appears to mostly complete, may be an older restoration or at least had better than average...

LMC MIP floor mats for M1009

I have had the MIP mat in my 1009, minus the cargo area, for several years now, although without the Jute underlay. A bit hard to work with going in due to stiffness but durable as all get out. It has a slicker surface feel to it, not the more rubbery feel of softer floor mats.

    kettenkrad

Never having seen one other than in photos I've often wondered how the cycle type front wheel works to steer a tracked vehicle? Does turning the handle bars also engage track braking to change vehicle direction of travel?

    Tailgate Replacment

If you're starting with a new shell stay away from off shore manufacture. I tried one from J.C. Whitney and there was no way to make it fit. Finally went with a GM shell from GM Parts Direct, no problem other than the cost differential.

    Pintle Hitch Removal

Sounds like you are already committed to your mounting location but what I did, wanting to keep my pintle hitch, is put a universal license bracket with light right under the bumper to the left of center. Tapped into a hot taillight lead for the license light.

    Tach cable replacement

    Thanks for all the feedback.

    Tach cable replacement

Does anyone have any good tips on doing a tach cable replacement on a deuce? I believe the manual says the radiator must be moved to get access up front. Can it be done without messing with the radiator?

    Tx. registration

Guess that just proves how closely they look at the form.

    Tx. registration

I've had generally good experiences over the past 10 years registering MV's in Galveston County, specifically at the League City tax office both with standard plates and former MV plate. Main problem with the MV plate was that they didn't have one on hand so I had to return to wrap that up...

    Cargo cover

Don't know if this will ever help anyone but back in March I purchased a NOS cargo cover with bows and straps on EBAY listed for a 2 1/2 ton. It was an expensive freight item from GA to TX and I didn't get into the box for a while. Long story short when I did unpack I found that it is a...

    CUCV Frame?

If the one from Sermis doesn't pan out, I also have one, a roller, down near Cuero that can be hauled back to Houston. I would need to pull the axles since I want to keep them. Would need some consideration for the labor and back haul.

Still looking- M35 boarding ladder w/rail

If you can get by without a rail, and you have an RV supply around, you might look for a small straight aluminum ladder designed to get up to an upper bunk in an RV. They stand a bit taller than bed level on a deuce but do have hooks. I use mine close to vertical against a lowered tailgate.

    M36a2 bed

I did a little more searching on the shipping crate and found the PN tag showing 2540-00-121-9082, Accessory Kit, vehicle. Ran it up on Google and comes back as kit for drop side bed with camo cover. Apparently the dropside uses six bows I guess.

    M36a2 bed

Thanks, I just bought a NOS bow/cover kit in the box and it came with six bows and I'm trying to figure out what it was packed for. I haven't unrolled the cover but I'm assuming it will be too big for my M35a2.

    M36a2 bed

How many cargo cover bows does the M36a2 have?

Need some opinions... :) Lots of pics!

Here's the Texas 'former military' appl form. Page two indicates limitations.

Need some opinions... :) Lots of pics!

Former Military Vehicle License is a good, quick way to go in Texas but it has operational limitations if you follow the letter of the law, i.e. parades, special events and all that type of stuff Error Page

Ft Bliss Recovery and MV Finds

Texas law allows former military vehicles to run on special plates or hood number but you have to register for one case or the other, i.e. if you own an unregistered truck with vaid hood numbers you are not in compliance.
