    Post your cucv pics here

Went out with a local Jeep club on their yearly winter run. Wasn't much snow left out on the desert but it was still a blast. Only carnage was a transfer case issue with the Sammy, it's a good thing we were prepared with a trailer. I got a lot of compliments on my M1028 and even a couple of...

Fuel Can Mounting on the outside

I would also recommend against this idea... There are plenty of other locations to mount an extra jerry can that would require less effort to accomplish... Just my $.02 though...

    Do the Doghead Mod!

I concur... My starter decided to blow up on me last week, and I firmly believe that if I had not done the Doghead mod shortly after purchasing my M1028, it could have done a lot of damage when it decided to let loose...

    m1008 seat replacement.

Thank You... This set up works great for me now but I plan on adding some more mods later, maybe some rifle mounts or something cool like that. Yeah these seats are pretty abundant and come with all sorts of hardware. I think you could do a 3 seat modification quite easily. If you look at the...

    m1008 seat replacement.

Yeah I got a few pictures. I was able to mount some new seatbelts in the original lugs as well. Oh and don't mind those bulky 6x9 boxes, I built a custom box for them that fits behind/between my seats. Also those plates in the middle came with my seats and they just fit perfectly between them...

    m1008 seat replacement.

Hammy... You would still have to fabricate a platform, unless the crown vic seats and center console are one unit. The two slider rails that mount to the original lugs are what come off of the bench seat. If you take a peep at my welds you can see that I'm no pro myself, ha ha. This concept took...

    m1008 seat replacement.

I would recommend fabricating a mounting platform to use the original mounting lugs and then mount your crown vic seats to the platform. That's what I did to accommodate some HMMWV seats in my M1028. Their not the most comfortable seats but they fit the look I was after...

    Blown up starter...

I know I stated in my opening statement that I was planning on replacing the positive wire that goes from battery to battery due to the heat bubble I seen coming from it. I was also planning on replacing any other positive wire just for piece of mind. But upon further investigation I am reminded...

    Blown up starter...

Indeed very plausible, which leads me to believe that this issue might have started some time ago. The sales associate at the parts store was also very surprised when I took my starter in. I guess I should play closer attention to this truck if I'm gonna use it as my daily driver...

What Size Wiper Are You Running?

I run 16's on both my 84' M1028 and my 85' Silverado. They seem to do what I need of them, I have never considered going any bigger than that...

    Blown up starter...

The starter bracket was in place and was snug the last time I checked it which was in July. If something as simple as the support bracket being loose could have caused this then I'll make sure to check it more often... No starter bolt failure, both were intact and took quite some effort to break...

    Blown up starter...

The back of the starter was blown off and the nose cone separated from the rest of the unit. The more I think about it the more I question if something just went terribly wrong that day or if this issue had slowly been creeping up on me.

    Blown up starter...

So while checking my trapline on Tuesday out in the middle of no where my starter decided to *blow* up. Yes I said blow up. After stepping out and checking/resetting some traps I hopped back in and proceeded to crank her over, she usually turns right over and off we go, but to my surprise that...

What to look for in a CUCV

I would recommend for you to start reading every thread in this site.... And I mean EVERY thread.... You will see issues other members have come across and how to fix such issues... Look closely into the problems that WILL happen with these vehicles and ask yourself if you think your mechanical...

Post Your 4th of July Parade Pics

I wasn't in the parade but was told by many people I should have been... There were a couple of Deuce and a halfs and an M1028 with the shelter on it in the parade... (didn't snap any pics of them though) I've been getting thumbs up everywhere I have went today...
