It was a 98, soon to be my first vehicle paid off with under 100k on it. Wifey remembers a bit more. She slid on ice , over corrected, went cross the center, hit the guard rail ( all with minimal damage) as she looked up to the right, here came a Toyota 4 runner barreling down, not braking...
Actually, cab and bed still attached. Frame is "z" shaped. Right frame rail is now where the left one was. I may try the "new n improved" hd ding king. LOL. Actually, amazingly, it still runs and drives, altho a bit clunky and noisy.
Get a pressure switch, 45 psi sets the contacts, and install in the governer pressure tap. Governor pressure is 1 pound pressure per mile per hour, so it will disengage below 45 mph. Wire thru brake switch, and the pressure switch, and you should be fine. should have a throttle switch that...
Chuck, sounds like the lift pump, or a fuel leak. One of the Blazers I picked up for you had a drippy water drain, but when I tightened it, it seemed to fix it. The filter heads on the firewall are prone to leaks.
Black smoke means lots of fuel, not enough air. Can ya hear the turbo spool up? Restricted air box, filter, stuck turbo shaft, air boot between turbo and intake, major boost leak. Check those.
That was the one I bid on. It is 85 miles from me. Wish I'd have known. I really only wanted the top, and maybe bumper and right fender. I planned on salvaging the tub, and storing it for a time when I get a hold of another parts 09. Still interested in the top tho.
Chuck, I think that is a diode problem, not real expensive if you dont mind repairing the alternator. Also, the one I put the switch in, needs the vachum control for the tranny (the passenger side of fuel pump ) adjusted a tiny bit more. 3/8 bolts on it, loosen and tilt it slightly more towards...
Well, after 2 and a half months, finally got all the paperwork in order, titled, and plated. I can drive without worry now. I plan on lettering the tailgate in 1 or 2 inch letters, Steelsoldiers.com on it. got the idea on another thread.
LMC, or several places. My favorite, is National Automotive lines, in Indiana. They will ups tanks, American Designer brand I believe , to your door, and prices are around $65 to $90 or so, plus shipping.
Finally saw a pic of it. Dump is gone, figured as much. Still, looks like a complete cab and chassis. If it is the one i remember, it ran one time, but hasnt ran for a while.
M51A2 ? Got a local fire department getting rid of a non-running M51, I believe A2. Havent seen it yet, is this a 5 ton, cargo, dump, tractor, gasser or diesel?
Well, been driving my 09 for over a month now, over 2000 miles. Low oil consumption, and a solid 20 to 22 mpg. My 26k 09 will soon turn 29k. My driving is part hiway, rural and seldom over 60 mph. I even make a "spirited" fire run or two.
