It is the temp switch or the TDM. the cadillac valve supply fluid to the fan clutching cuts the fluid to the clutch when the tdm says to thus engaging the fan. so if the fan engages when you default it (unplug) then the valve and clutch are good.

You Have to remove the timing change cover. We take the radiator assembly out to change them.

Keep in mind that these doors are made out of Epoxy resin not Polyester resin (standard fiber glass) so Bondo and fiberglass resin will not stick to it. I would use a 2 part Epoxy resin. We buy ours from Single source automotive paint.
