When you have the rear end singled out and you wrap the tracks just around the rear tires, like a skid-steer...
wouldn't you need a third bogie wheel to take up the slack when the rear tires are flexing over obstacles? how would the track flex when the tires articulate?
I think tracks over...
I have thought about that too. For a deuce you're only going to use off-road (less that 5% pavement) it would be perfect.
You would have to find some 9R20 or 10R20 AG (agriculture) tires and put them on. Add 3 Detroit lockers and you would have a lot of capability.
Try out this website...
good pics. if you have any more pics of the "over the road" trucks that you can show us, that would be great.
i like the ones that look like beefed up transport trucks.
m1028s don't have 14 bolts front and rear. they have a dana 60 front with a limited slip and a 14 bolt full floater rear with a Detroit Locker, and both axles have 4.56 gears.
good call taking a girl mudding, dinner is the back is cute too. well played :)
bad call: you went wheeling unprepared...

the M1009 comes in the SUV version your seen, the Chevy Blazer. The pickup version is the M1008.
the 09 is a 1/2 ton SUV. it's rated at 3/4 ton by the military but it has 1/2 ton axles. the 08 is a 1 ton pickup. it has different axles. it's rated at 5/4 ton (1 and a quarter) by the army...
