I was lucky and found a used Western, old style that stays mounted on the vehicle. Fit just fine.

Block heater

Ditto on the above. Just put a freeze plug block heater in mine, makes a hugh difference.

m1009 transfer case shifting difficulty

:ditto:on above. The plastic slide indicator on my 1009 was all gummed up. Cleaned and lubed it and it made a big difference in shifting.

Where's Your License Plate?

Sorry to say I removed the pintle and put in the civilian license plate holder and light. Using the M1009 as a DD and don't want to be stopped. I plan on adding a class 3 hitch.
