Plastic air wiper motors - repair how-to

Did anyone have issues with the 1-7/16" ID o-rings being too big? Mine were too big. Might that have been 1-7/16" OD? After getting the motor apart that wasn't working it seamed pretty clean. The orings didn't look swollen. However, after some cleaning and reassembly with the original...

Deuce Insurance Prices - How much do you pay?

I'm paying much more than that with State Farm for liability. They won't give comprehensive "because it's a ex-military vehicle".

Source for door latch springs ? ?

I'd previously discussed magazine springs for Grease guns with a spring manufacturer. If you can provide them something to go by, I'm sure they can make it. Sent up cost is the killer. Probably looking at $400-500 for each run (left and right). After that I would think the springs would be...

Seth, What shocks did you use?

rear shock placement on bobbed deuce

I came across a thread discussing adding shocks to the rear of a bobbed deuce. There were mixed reactions as to whether or not there was a difference. I was looking under my bobber and I wasn't real sure as to the most effective location for mounting. Since the springs are outside the frame...

Do I have an exhaust leak???

cushions seem pretty new with no apparent signs of mildew or mold. Headliner also seems fine. Well I had another issue. I went to move it a few days ago and I didn't start at first. I went and checked the batteries and the negative terminal on the second battery was partly melted. aua I...

Do I have an exhaust leak???

I don't know if I have an exhaust leak or not. I don't hear anything that seems out of the ordinary to me. However, every time I drive the truck, I end up with a slight burning in the back of my throat. Is this normal? I would like to avoid it, without avoiding driving the truck. TIA.

    Gasser parting out

Understand that this is my cousin's and he wants the axles for other purposes. Unless I can find other axles to give him in exchange, I don't think he'd give me the whole truck. I don't know the year of the truck or the model. All I know is that it's gas powered engine. I haven't seen the...

    Gasser parting out

My cousin purchased a gasoline powered deuce recently and he's parting it out for the axles and he is scrapping the rest. He says I can have anything off of it I want. I was going to take the wheels and tires (tires are not NDT) and the hard top assuming it will fit my 71 AG. I've not seen...

shifter came off for the second time

Okay this makes the second time in as many outtings that the (beep) shifter level has come off. First time was several weeks ago, when I took it to work. I was about 1/2 mile away when it popped off. I luckily had a good place to pull off. I was able to get a few tools from a gym and put it...

Okay. So how do you put the new inner hub seal back on?

how to remove the inner hub seal?

Posted is a pic, if it helps. Right rear axle. Hubs are flipped. I'm a little unsure of how to remove it. I pried a little bit with a screw driver with the axis of the axle. Didn't seem to be moving and I didn't want to make a simple repair more costly. Any advice would be appreciated.

Winch: What additional parts are needed?

I would like to put a 10K PTO winch on the front of my deuce. I've found a source for the winch, cable, and chain for under $700. However, I know that there are other parts required. Bumper extensions, PTO shaft, etc. My question is how much more should I be paying for the additional parts...

how to positively ID a LDS in a 2-1/2 and Air Filter Options

As I understand it, the LDS requires better air flow than the LDT. If they both have the same airbox, then is there a different air filter for the LDS? TIA

how to positively ID a LDS in a 2-1/2 and Air Filter Options

Doghead, I will check the locations you've mentioned. I'm probably thinking back to a picture from the ad and not sure that I saw it on the dash. I'm only referring to the air filter/air intake when I say "5 ton filter setup".
