do you want to avoid lift and fender trimming of just the lift? Some of the guys here like to run the 37" hummers but that will require...
RE: Re: RE: Seatbelt Light
It should go out after 10-15 seconds or so... the wire running to the seatbelt on mine was cut so i just pulled it out and the light goes on every time i start the truck but goes out after a few seconds. and no buzzer so no worry. It never comes back on while im...
Re: RE: M1009 starts, stalls, starts, sounds like crap
how often should the filter be bled? i havent bled mine in nearly 6 months... since i last changed the filter and was having problems with it. i havent had any problems with it lately and didnt want to tamper...
based on this he should be able to test by putting in 4x4 and if it pulls to the left it would be a spring torquing issue? left because its opposite of what is happening for torque in the opposite direction..
if you have no one to put a spare foot on the brakes: for changing wheels i lock the hubs and shift it to 4x4 then put the trans in park. or to be better on the trans, shift it to neutral and then apply the parking brake.
I had taken the cap off and thats when i noticed a snap ring that fell out. I am assuming this is the outer ring and it seems to be giving me the problem that you mentioned it controls (locking the hubs). I have a feeling this is the culprit i was just looking for a detailed view to find out...
The driver side hub on the front axle of my M1008 will not engage for 4x4, leaving me stranded on the trail a few weekends ago. I have taken the cap off once and noticed that a retaining ring is floating around. I am looking for a writeup or even a TM that can show me the exploded view of the...
I've been running the tuff country HDs since march. no sway bar and no complaints. To stay on topic tho, what are they charging for the crossover kit? if ya dont mind. i'd like to run it on my truck eventually
I ran into this problem running up north this weekend. On the drive up it was raining and the gen 2 light would come on every now and then after the first 100 miles of driving. then after arriving at my destination ( only 200 or so miles) i realized that the gen 2 light stays on all the time...
does anyone have pictures of their starter hooked to the bracket. i just bought the bracket but am missing the stud on the end of the starter and dont know the bolt size to attach the bracket to the engine or frame. broke another bolt, time to get the bracket in.
Like CCATLETT1984 I did a write up on the installation of a 4" lift with front springs and a rear shackle flip on 35" tires.
Here's the thread it can be found at http://steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=11566. you can find some pictures of it in my last post on the page...
Where did you put the 6x9s? I have a friend that put them in her door, but i kindof want to leave the door as is for now. just wondering if you have another solution. i plan on fabbing up m own box/panel to go behind the seat and in the rear corners of the cab of my M1008.
Had it happen on a friend's truck. we just pulled the wires and it didnt do too much damage, i have also been told to hit the started with something (hammer, rock, stick) anything to knock the relay a bit
Re: RE: Scary wobble
easier said then done. pirate4x4.com has a good kingpin rebuild article. My M1008 had the same problem but after replacing my tires all was fixed. are your tires old? if not its most likely the kingpins
thanks for the picture. my starter housing does not have the bolt sticking out like yours has to attatch to the bracket. I can probably just get a longer bolt for the end tho and geta strap from a dealer right?
i'll try and get a picture up of it if that'll help
Is the bracket for the 24v starter the same size? im not sure how the size comparison is between the 12v and 24v models. Does anyone have one that they would be willing to sell or know of a seller/distributor? Does anyone have a picture of it under their truck for reference?
