Here's what I got from a tech at Husky. The original springs are 1/2 ton springs but are rated at 2110 lbs and have 7" of free arch. They are also $408.92 each. Here are the options:
Part number: # of leaves: rated capacity: inches of free arch: price each:

I called Husky, they need to know the number of springs in the pack and the length. Of course I'm 500+ miles from home and will be all week. If someone can provide that info, I'd appreciate it.
I had a Cooper Discoverer fail at highway speed on a civvy K5 some years back. It was an earlier version of the tire but it was 31x10.50-15 tires on 15x8 rims. The casing split from the tread to the bead and nearly caused a bad accident with me and my daughter in the truck - front tire...
Nobody's turned one back into a half-ton? No biggie, I'll report back what I find out from Husky. I had a civilian K5 some years back with a 2.5" lift, 33x12.50s, and 15x10 wheels. I replaced the rear springs with some Rough Country OEM replacements (no longer available) and was amazed how...
I'm going to rebuild the front end on my M1009 and install an ebay 3" 3/4 ton lift - spring front and block rear + new shocks all around. The 3/4 ton springs on front will be fine but for ride comfort I want new rear 1/2 ton springs. Has anyone tried it? I did the same on my civvy 79 2wd...
Yeah, you really need the lift. The "ear tach" doesn't work so well with a diesel until you have them wound out. You can pull the cover on the diff and get the numbers off the ring gear to find out for sure what gear ratio you have.
I think you've an awesome set-up for running 37" tires. If you really needed to tow in 4th, you've only lowered yourself to the rest of the crowd. The 4.56 gears are deep. I've never personally lifted a K20/K30 but I do have a decent grasp of what this generation Chevy needs for a given tire...
I haven't had the top off my M1009 yet, but I also own a civvy K5 and the top has been off over a year. I keep a tarp over it, right now it's a sometimes-driver.
I'm guessing the top weighs around 150 lbs and isn't a problem for two guys to take off. My M1009 is my fourth Blazer and I love...
Thank you, sir. I really need a receiver hitch and 2" ball for me to really be able to put the truck to use and enjoy it more. Losing the pintle hitch was a no-brainer for me.
This comes up often enough I thought I'd show where I mounted mine. I do not plan on using the pintle hitch and want a regular receiver hitch on, so this was the ticket for me. The upper tag bolts have the built in LED lights, I think I paid $9 for them on ebay. The tag bracket is a cheap chrome...
SEM paint
Took the door panels off for a spruce up. My daughter and I took everything off and cleaned them up for paint. I had a can of the SEM interior paint with the correct code so it was time to try it out. I'd ordered some map pockets off ebay so it was a good time to put them on too. And...
It's an exercise in sweating/cursing with lots of impact wrench work and plenty of sawzall work thrown in.
As of a few weeks back, mine's off, and I mounted the license plate there.
Yeah, a big x10 on that. The shocks don't support anything at all. You don't need to jack the truck up or use jackstands. As a matter of fact, you shouldn't. The less time you spend under a truck on jackstands, the safer you are.;-)
I just installed one on my civvy K5 and I'm not sure if I got it from LMC or Classic Parts - I use them both.
Mine went on without a hitch and works like it should. I wish I could tell you for sure where I bought it but I'm pretty sure the receipt is gone by now.
