I agree with M813rc, check the vacuum lines. It'll make the Th400 shift late just like you described. The th400 will up shift even when pulled down to 1st on the column once the line pressure gets high enough. That's what your's is doing, shifting off of line pressure instead of vacuum signal.
I've got an 85 chevy haf ton 4x4 that has a 95 model silverado bench in it. It was easy to do. I just cut the bottom mounts off of both and welded the older mounts onto the newer seat. Works perfect. Shouldn't be any harder for a set of buckets.

I've had my feelers out for several years for one of those here locally,but i guess the guy will just let it rot instead of selling it. Any idea what that truck weigh's ? I drove my 1008 with 37's over the hyway scales yesterday and it was 6,380 lbs.

They're 16". The back spacing is about right too. The scrub radius is still at or about factory.
Also, if anyone decides to buy a set, the taper on the wheels where the lug nuts seat is hard to match. I found the right taper on a set of lugs at my local Carquest. It took a lot of searching...
Thanks. The wheels are pretty heavy with the insert's and all but it's worth it. You can run as low of pressure as you want. Makes the truck ride good offroad too.
