So, I'm sure I can find a place if I wanted to splice into wiring, but is there any place to easily tap the instrument lighting supply without taking the dash apart? Installing some gauges, and I currently have them wired to the ignition-controlled 12V source. Just means my lights are on when...
Since this seems like new territory, I'd take your time and do the research to find the Right Way to do the stuff you're interested in doing. If you're talking about a car stereo, you could add a new fuse block tapped off the front battery but there's probably open terminals on the existing one...
For anyone who has installed a gauge, what's the normal peak temperature you see, especially when towing? I installed the AutoMeter 3 mini gauge cluster (2391) and want to replace the voltmeter I don't need with a transmission temp gauge, and AutoMeter told me that the 2355 water temp gauge...
The second pic seems to make it clear that you're identifying a power steering pump bracket bolt, which are notorious for coming loose, from what I've read (and seen). I don't know how that would be related to a coolant think though, the loose bolt is probably a red herring for that problem but...
Smittybilt 5661031 GEAR O.D. Green Front Seat Cover : Amazon.com : Automotive
I got one of these a while back for about $100 for my driver's seat, and kept the item in my cart for when I felt like splurging for the passenger side cover. Well, Amazon just told me their price just dropped to $80...
My camera's not the best but I will try to get some shots. It ended up involving a lot of, "why'd I do it like this, when this would be much easier" but I finally got it done.
Just finished installing the AutoMeter Mini Gauge set. Now I can monitor my temp and oil pressure. Probably gonna try to swap the voltmeter out for something else since I already have the stock voltmeter, but 1.5" gauges aren't common.
Hmm, the only 'main wire' anything I can see is the block connector directly behind the fuse block, not really with much of a rubber grommet. But in the engine bay, up and to the left of that, I did find one black insulated cable going through a large grommet that I was able to push a...
Been searching for a bit, not really finding what I was looking for. I believe I've read a post here or there about some magic spot in the firewall that was easy to run some wiring through into the cab, but I can't find any reference to them. If there isn't some easy place to route it through...
Hey, so I ordered the water jacket cover from GMPartsDirect, and I have a AutoMeter gauge I was going to hook onto it. Before I got into tearing into the engine compartment side of things, I tried to dry-fit the sending unit, the adapter, and the plate. However, the jacket seems to be narrowed...
Same thing happened to me on Hwy N near my place. Luckily it was the middle of the night and no one was around. I was able to find my drive shaft though. I'll never be ignoring that vibration again. Second time I've had to limp home in front-wheel drive though. Drove just like my dad's...
Sorry to necro this thread, but it's the only one that mentions GMPD being out of the jacket. I just ordered it for $25.17 shipped last week, and I just got my UPS shipping confirmation this morning. So I guess they found some.

I see you've got one that appears ripped out, I've got two like that on my passenger side from where I ran the mount into a tree. Any plans on fixing that one?
Could I by any chance get a photo of the tools you used for that replacement? I'd just like a visual of what I should expect to need when I eventually have to do mine.
Ok, so maybe the title makes it sound like this is no surprise, but I personally expected better from my 09. I take it with an empty trailer down the road the other day at 55 MPH, and 15 minutes later, it's overheating and the radiator is boiling like a tea kettle. WTF I think. I let it set...
I had to replace all the expensive parts of my vacuum system to fix my shift problems, unfortunately. Started with the pump when I found out that it wasn't creating any vacuum, then had to do the valve on the IP because it was shot (even tried disassembling it and refurbishing it to no avail)...
