I don't know where the link to it is, but I downloaded a version last year and would like to list errors that I have found. If you have found problems with it go ahead and list them here. When used for troubleshooting, an erroneous/incomplete diagram doesn't help.
BTW, the wiring diagrams in the...
Installed the missing dromedary platform and set the 10 KW genset in place.
The four mounting holes lined up perfectly with pre-existing holes in the platform.
Did some testing again today and drove the 757 up and down the driveway a few times. It smokes a bit when loaded down, but sounds great. :-)
My daughter even tried it.
I need a clamp fabricated (can't find an original) and if any of you have the facilities to make one, please give me a quote.
Engine exhaust pipe is 3-1/2 inches and the heater exhaust is 1-1/2 inches in diameter. The holes are 3/8 dia.
TIA
Was looking for information on sealing action of oil filter gaskets and found this (Cummins newsletter, Aug 2007):
In the late
1980's European original equipment manufacturers
began reverting back to the cartridge style oil filter. We
see this same trend beginning to appear in our North...
Does any of you have further info on the shroud used in the arctic kit, mounting, general dimensions, pictures, drain hole(s) etc? Any for sales out there in MV land?
Thanks
I have a coule of instrument panel overlays that were anodized and dyed black at one time. I'd like to paint them and relabel the knobs and lights, what is a good procedure for prepairing the surface for paint?
TIA
This should be of general interest, the matching of battery terminals to cable lug to cable.
Note how the 1/0 cable is connected to the battery clamp, it's tin plated and the opening in the lug is 3/8, like the bolt in the clamp and the outside dia matches the outside of the barrel of the...
This is not a problem at the moment, just planning ahead..
When my solenoid (contactor portion) failed last year, I ended up replacing the starter AND the solenoid, would that be the normal procedure on the multifuel engines or has any of you replaced the solenoid alone leaving the starter...
With the engine running smoothly, I simply couldn't wait to take the next step, so on went the tires and a short test run followed.
It just floats over the humps, the power steering working great and the power brakes are superb. It's nice to hear the turbo as I let off the "gas", it still smokes...
Anybody know what the rating is for the 5-ton multifuel engine starter? The tag doesn't have that info. Or perhaps the current rating of the solenoid contactor.
TIA
To make sure that the fuel pressure will not cause the flame heater nozzle to leak when the pump isn't turned on, I added a solenoid valve in the line....
Found a note regarding inner tubes in the cold weather kit section of my 8x8 dash 20 TM.
The tires on these trucks are "tubeless" radials and inner tubes are not mentioned anywhere else in any of the manuals (at least I haven't found any reference to them yet), so why would they be used for...
Removed the hydraulic head on the lds465-2 engine IP this morning. As I was pulling it out parts started to fall off, the return spring had broken....
This explains why the fuel plunger wasn't returning. I have replacement parts on hand and will try to put it all back together later today...
Spent about 5 hours preparing for the lift and 2 hours on the actual lift of the cab.
The fuel plunger in the IP is sticky and I need to take the hydraulic head off at least, so the decision was made to take the cab off needed or not. It certainly makes for super access.
All this talk about stenciling got me motivated to add the star on the 757.
The location and size follows the original, which was a decal on the same spot.
The remains of the decal gave me the points of the star for an easy to complete home made stencil.
The residue in image #2 is from the...
For all you people who can't stand the sound of the buzzer, but still want it connected.
Use a turn signal flasher unit to make it go beep...beep...beep..., much less annoying.
The hook up will require the purchase of a matching connector to wire into the flasher. Part number is MS3106A16-10S...
