How hard is it to swap a winch from one deuce to another. Both trucks are complete runners I just want the winch on a different one. I am pretty mechanically inclined and am curious how big of a project it is. Looks like a "simple" bolt on, but I'd like to hear from those who have actually...

Does he plan to drive it on the street or is it for off-road use? I've seen a lot of guys put Rocks under Chevy trucks, pretty easy "bolt-in" if you have the room for them. I think the front spring widths are even the same (I could be wrong on the Blazer though), he'll need another set of...

I just hauled scrap for my work last week, got $280/ton for prepared. Makes it pretty tempting to part a deuce :cry:

I've always trailered mine but I thought when you buy a vehicle you are automatically covered under your best policy for 30 days. That's the way it works here, of course you do need to go get an actual policy on the truck within 30 days.

What do you consider "short lifespan"?

So were you able to transfer the title at the same time he applied for it or did you have to wait until he got the title in the mail and then go transfer it?

Oh I hope you guys aren't bringing any 2 1/2 ton Rockwell axles to the scrap yard :cry: At least not the fronts!

Ya I understand, I was just wondering if anyone has gone through this or maybe bought one for a friend before and gone through the titling hassle.

Anyone use any used gear oil or is that just too thick? What if it was cut with more gas?

If I sell a truck before I apply for the SF-97 can I have it put in the guys name who purchased it or do I have to have it in my name? The lady at my local DMV told me I have to title it in my name, wait for the title, then transfer it to him. That would mean I have to pay all the fees...

I got mine today too, sent it in on July 22, less than a month I was impressed. Went to the DMV right away and got my farm plates for it :D

It is a turbo and I think it is a whistler but I'll have to double check, pretty sure the J-pipe is is nice shape too. Shoot me a PM with what you think it's worth and maybe we can work something out. As far as the total number goes it is 14, 13 that run great. Haven't got around to posting...

I went and got a couple 875's from Wal-Mart and they crank great, they are a little smaller in size than the stockers so they don't fit the bracket but they work fine.

It's cold here in the Midwest...got to keep the heat in! A couple have the rings cut out on them so not sure how good that would be.
