Tube with fins is a lousy outdated dryer. But has nothing to do with pads sticking to the drum. Thats from time and moisture outside. The moisture inside gunks up all your air brake valves. A newer air dryer will help with that.
When it won't start, use a screwdriver to jump the aux start relay on the drivers inner frame rail. With the dash power switch on if you want it to start. Otherwise it will crank but no fuel.
You would want to add metal rails on top of the frame rails to space your box up 2 inches or so. You could continue those a bit past the original rails I wouldnt go too far though
The older trucklite brand ones have several leds all over the face the newer ones have 2 leds and are separated by a line of plastic across the center.
The 1088s have been more available in the past year or two compared to the 1083 trucks. The cargo trucks have extra metal channel spacing the bed up a few inches the tractor does not have this. If you were putting a big water tank on it you might want the heavier spring pack. For a camping box...
Good quality H4 round housings with slightly higher wattage offroad bulbs are brighter and more even light than the leds. The first gen trucklites are marginally better than stock mil bulbs. The newer style trucklites are alot better but you still get a flat spread unless you leave them in high...
On the starter solenoid the small post closest to the block is the positive. Get a clip lead on there and then touch the other end to the big 24v connection on the starter. If the starter does not work properly then its bad. Its considered a Cat part and as such its expensive unfortunately. I...
Very easy fix for this. Brakes are open on these trucks. The pads rust stuck to the drums. Chock all 4 wheels well. Can't emphasize this enough. All 4. Air up truck release brakes. Peek and you can see which pad or pads are stuck. Take a big screwdriver and at the edge of the pad give it a pry...
You would need to have an automatic transmission where the fluid pump drive was coupled to the output shafts. Don't think it's gonna happen on a humvee. You are dependent on torque converter engagement.
The trans computer uses the 3 sensors for combined input. Anything being a bit off can affect the shifting. Since you swapped the motor I would think the tps could benefit from alignment. I believe the engine speed sensor signal is counted as pulses. So slight voltage variations may not matter...
