That one on a snorkel would let the rain water in. The Donaldson has slits around the mounting bracket that let's water out and not down the spout. I'll see if I can find some specs on it.
The Safety issue with the brake system is that it is a single stage system, not dual. So if you have a brake leak somewhere and you loose pressure, you loose your brakes completely. In todays cars you have a dual stage system so if you have a leak in the front system and loose your brakes you...
Yeah I have, found allot of missing bolts when I had to replace the rear end. Stuff was just plain missing when I got it, like the parking brake!
She's in a much better place now..
The spring mount just has the two bolts on the top and the bottom was "cut to fit" around the other piece. This seems like a flimsy set up for the spring hanger. It just sort of fits around the other metal piece that came loose. The other side has the normal mounting holes underneath the...
Well I found out where the banging was coming from, the whole rear spring mounting came loose and was hanging off. Well it's not really the spring mounting but don't know the name for it. You'll know what I mean by the pics. It must have been loose for a little while and just recently came...
I had the same issue as the OP, locked up my brakes on my recovery, I rebuilt my air pack. This was a full takedown and rebuild and it's been working great ever since. If you only took it apart a little to see if everything was moving properly you may not have found the issue. There are allot...
Well that confirms I was looking at the wrong thing, the one that I was looking at was right in front of me. I found an OD bolt on the driveway a few weeks ago and I had one of those "I wonder where that came from" thoughts.. I may now find out!
Thanks!
I thought I did check that shaft, it looked OK but perhaps I was looking at the wrong thing as that was not a PITA to get to.
Once this weather stops I am going to get back under her and check again.
Thanks!
I have something similar, although its through all gears. The truck shifts just fine but when shifting from one to another gear, when I engage the trans I get a bump under the cab. I thought it sounded like a mount was missing somewhere causing the tranny or something to twist or hop and cause...
So got a new Vented cap from Saturn the other day. It's nice because you can switch from vented to Non Vented if you are fording. I do have the strainer installed and the new cap fits allot more tightly and helps with the fuel leaking allot. However, it still leaked a little so I switched to...
Thanks for the post, I may do the same. Was the part just called a "universal Gearbox" with a 20% speed up adaptor? Perhaps their part #54RA2?
Thanks again!
Welcome, and in Deleware you're in a good place for GL auctions MD, DE and NJ all within a close distance, you could have some real fun!
Best of luck with your future recovery!
This is great news for me as I just got a bunch of gas (40 or so gallons) mixed with some seawater from a flooded truck. I have been adding that to my WMO to thin it out. Nice to hear the added benefit of adding the gas!
I would assume salt water would also settle to the bottom?
Sewerzuk, cool video, thanks for posting, now you just need one of these snorkels! Not that you may go through water that deep but for the cool factor and I got a nice boost in power from the Ram Air. However, unfortunately my supplier can no longer get the 4" ram air scoop, but there are...
Dang! sorry to hear that Cannoncocker.. That stinks.. I just got mine all put together and love it. I didn't think I would get that much of a power gain when driving over 25-30mph but I did! I seem to be downshifting much less to get up hills.
