If you are running the stock suspension, a 255 85r16 mud tire will fit with no rubbing issues. In that size I run bfg km2's on my 86 M1008 and Toyo Mt's on my 79 K20. Both tires measured out to advertised specs when mounted on the factory wheels. And there are no issues with traction off road...
Both alternators rebuilt and now everything is charging correctly on the 85 M1008. I did notice one thing though; when I start the truck the gen 2 light instantly goes off. It does not remain on until I tap the skinny pedal like it did before.
Will use the existing V belt set up. It has a Vintage Air AC system lol
The # 8 piston hole is a common problem. Assuming there's no cracks, it's an easy piston swap.
**the 94 turbo set up requires several upgrades so the engine will last. And those upgrades are not cheap lol. Right now I...
Engine has 104K and still holds compression just fine. The #8 piston has hole in it, but otherwise that is an easy fix. Assuming the cylinder is not gored, it should be good to go. Just to be on the safe side the entire block and crank/bearings will be inspected beforehand.
My DB2 was rebuilt a...
I didn't look at the entire thread. Is this a 6.5 Optimizer
Thx.... I've got my eye on a 94 6.5 long block in good condition. Other than switching to an electric lift pump, I thought it was a straight bolt in and transfer all of my good accessories from my worn out 6.2 along with resetting the...
The 86 M1008 already had a full electronic Vintage Air AC system on it when I bought it. Not gonna lie; AC is a must in the Southeast. It turns into a sauna with the high humidity down here😛
It hit 90 degrees yesterday with 49% humidity.... swamp butt season is in full swing for at least 2 months. I think I might go ahead and put a new compressor on the 86 M1008 so I'll have AC....
Depends on the shop running the frame rack and how the frame is bent. Upon the frame being straightened out to factory specs, it will have to be braced where the bend occurred to reinforce the frame. Any reputable shop with a frame rack should know to do that.
I recently had the factory steel brake line that connected to the T fitting on the rear axle split in half on my 79 K20. It wasn't rusted, it just split in half where it connected to the fitting
I have a 2016 Kubota 3301 4wd. It's great for maintaining my flat 7 acres. The major issue is any hillside; it becomes very unstable if you're not going straight up😳. It'll make ya pucker up...
Dumb question; my 86 m1008 had a 12V conversion done when I bought it. It also has an electronic Vintage Air AC system in it. When I turn the ignition switch on, are the Gen 1 and Gen 2 lights still supposed to come on like the 24V system does? Currently only the Gen 2 light is coming on.
J Code engine without the EGR valve, but otherwise the same. I have heard where the military version had the injection pump turned up, but I honestly cannot confirm.
The 6.2 diesel is supposed to sound like a metal garbage can with rocks in it lol. If it does not, something is wrong with the fuel system or the engine is losing compression.
