How does your 6.2 diesel do with first to second gear change? My 79 K20 has the SM465 with a warmed up 406, so that wider gearing span from first to second gear ain't bad. Just curious how it was with a 6.2 diesel...
At this point both of my old Turbo 400 trans have worked just fine. Lol they've been reliable when other stuff on both trucks needed to be replaced. I feel lucky so far
Yes, a manual primer is one of the best upgrades to our CUCV's. The filter housing on my 85 M1008 started leaking, so we swapped in a Duramax fuel filter set up. Fuel filter changes and priming the system is a breeze now. As soon as I come across another D'max fuel filter set up, I'll snag it...

Did that when I had 74 K10. What they didn't tell me was the annual tag fee was triple the cost of a normal tag when it came time to renew every year..
I don't have an answer as to why it reduces the noise. I just know when I flipped the air inlet to the drivers side it cut down on the noise. Attaching some sort of an air induction hose to the air cleaner housing helps as well.

Years ago I purchased new steel tanks for the 74 K10 from Year One. Never had an issue with them. The gentleman that I recently sold that truck to cleaned out the tanks and there was zero rust.
