120V welders aren't real welders.
How would you rate your welding skill? How would others rate it?
Don't take this the wrong way, but most people who take on projects like your proposing already know what skill and tooling it takes. Those who don't know, need to wait and build up on those...
A link is dead on that thread. It went dead post web site upgrade. Here's a direct:

You guys need to find better rebuilders.
See:

For a source for regulators.
Yes it can. The FDC is only one of several things that can cause fuel in the oil. I suggest replacing the IP head o-rings. It seems to be the leading cause. That was my source of fuel in oil. BTW, I have an o-ring set made of Viton for sale, if interested.
Oh and be sure to check for any A/C voltage output from the alternator. Excessive A/C voltage can also damage the batteries. You don't want more then aprox 300 mV of A/C. Check it at the alternator post. If you check at the battery end, the batteries tend to mask it.
Just keep is under 100 Amps (or the rating of the unit you buy). You can go above the rating, but the batteries will become unequalized until the demand lowers and the BE can do its equalizing. Attached is a image found on Google of a type III and II. I have the one on the right. There is no...
I am going to have to disagree on that. A proper 24V charging system should be producing aprox 28 Volts.
cloud9, you have learned a valuable lesson on 24v systems. You can't pull off the lower battery with out a proper setup. You need a battery equalizer or two alternators charging each...
I have a farm plate with 28K of registered weight.
You must pay for the weight of your truck including the weight of your cargo hauled. The DMV will give you any plate you want. I used to have a regulator 4K plate on mine when I first got it. I even asked the DMV lady "are you sure? I...
A good equalizer will do 100 Amps continuous. But, your right about cost if your buying new. However, junkyards don't know what they are...So they don't know that they should be charging a lot.
It seems everyone is doing hip shooting.
NC laws are not the same as everyone else. Antique plates don't mean anything here. It's all in the title manual I posted the link to.
I said already and I will say it again for those who don't read the manuals:
1. An M35 needs the sticker.
2...
How do you go about applying for this free sticker?
A non-com class C will work. Driver's licenses are based on use and GVWR. Not the tagged weight. An M35 has a GVWR below 26K. If you wish to tow a trailer with a GVWR of more then 10K, you need a Class A.
