Looking at the circuit diagram appendix F of the -20, that plug should have 4 wires. Left, right, tail and back up lights. It looks like the tab broke and someone cut the wires from the plug and spliced them together with a crimp on terminal.
Is that wire splice next to the upper plug in your picture stock or a repair to your wiring harness? It could be that the prong broke off and it was repaired with a crimp on wire splice. If your trailer works on the civi truck, I doubt that there is a problem with it. You could look at the...
There is a whole section in the TM on troubleshooting the volt meter. From memory there is a fuse and a relay involved. But, most have a bad resister as mentioned above. The TM is going to tell you to just replace it.
I think that is the way it is suppose to be.

The middle wires are for the fuel pressure switch. They don't have anything to do with the running of the truck. It sends a single to...
RE: New to me M1008 - Checklist before fire up?
I would also just lightly brush the battery cable to the post or better yet use a small gage wire, just in case there is a dead short somewhere. Having batteries blow up in your face isn't much fun.
RE: New to me M1008 - Checklist before fire up?
With the air cleaner off you will need to double check that they didn't remove anything from underneath it. They didn't take if off just for the fun of it.
Also the alternators won't work without the dash lights. I don't think it will hurt it...
RE: CUCV Pic
For those of you who don't know, cucv.ppt is a power point presentation. If you don't have microsoft office on your computer like me, you can download a free viewer at:

I missed the "this" link the first time I read your post. I don't think 2.5 amp will help much, you need the 100 amp version. Yours isn;t hooked up. You might go through this and see if it still works...
M1028A1ShelterCarrier, how did you hook yous up? Did you keep both alternators and just replace the original voltage regulator or did you eliminate one of the alternators?
If you are talking about the blue box on the drivers side, it is the voltage regulator. There is a lot of info on this site about this. Basically the M1010 has two 28v alternators, one charges both batteries and one is regulated down by the blue box to charge the front battery or if the 28v...
You might as well get a bottle jack at the start of this project. You are going to need to keep one in the truck when you are done because the OEM jack ain't going to do the job if you need it after a lift and a second jack comes in handy sometimes when you are in the middle of one of these...
To make myself clear, I would add the house current maintainer to the Solargizers and run both if you are not getting enough sun for the Solargizers to keep the batteries up by itself.
I would put one on each battery. They put out some kind of pulsed wave and I don't see how you would ever get them to work together to put both across both batteries. I don't think it would help much to add a second one though. I would add a little battery maintainer that runs on house current...
Several of you have confessed to using house paint, but no one has said how they prepped the truck before painting. I would think water based house paint on top of bare metal would cause rust. I painted an old school bus with white house paint once a long time ago. Didn't do any prep except...
