    Tire / Wheel balance ??

Sorry, I forgot about the tubes. Many 4x4s run water in the tires to help balance and to add weight down low when offroad. Just how much is the question. You might try searching a forum like www.pirate4x4.com for answers and specifics. I don't think you would need much antifreeze in Temple...

    Tire / Wheel balance ??

You have mentioned various methods to help with dynamic balancing. I tried golf balls in my 15.5s. Seems to work okay, although I haven't put them on a balancer.

    Outbid by $10,000

EMM- It looks like a great truck, no doubt. And, as I mentioned earlier, at least one other person had to see the same value for the price to go that high. Business expense? Even better. Enjoy my man!

    Outbid by $10,000

Re: RE: Outbid by $10,000 I didn't bid on that one, but could visualize a reasonable bid of around $6500. I bid several at Fort Riley instead. Much cheaper, but maybe not as nice.

    Outbid by $10,000

To each his own I guess. More than one person had to think it was worth that much for the bidding to go that high. One of our SS members has a like new M35A2 on ebay right now you can buy much cheaper.

    questions about my first 5-ton

What model is it? If it is the M820 Expansible Van or similar variant, you are looking at about 28,000#. The weight will be listed on the data plate and can be found in the -10 operators manual.

    CUCV Starter GB CLOSED

David- Please put me down for one. I think the group buy is a great idea, and it worked good on the towbars at Fort Riley. However, anyone reviewing this thread (GL shill bidders inlcuded) knows just what we are willing to pay, $1200-$1300 per lot. It will be interesting to see where the...

    M819 wrecker truck tractor question

I bought 4 cranes from Gary and I posted offers to the list many moons ago about more being available. Nobody said too much. The prices started out at $5000 each and then it was $2000 and then it was $750. The longer they sat, the cheaper they got.

Check out my new 5-ton!....errr 7.5-ton!

RE: Re: RE: Check out my new 5-ton! The MVTRs are sweet! Those tires are the 16R20s, just like on the HEMTT, PLS, and HET. A posted some pics a while back of some that Pierce sold as fire trucks. They are super nice, but I wouldn't expect any surplus for 30+ years (although there was a...

RE: Re: RE: Why do I have no front drive in forward, but do DMA- Do you have a picture of these hubs? I'd like to see what you are talking about. I didn't know there was such a thing for 5 tons!

    Rims and Tires

Rims are different among CUCVs. What model do you have? I personally like the 16.5 beadlock rims from the HMMWV for M1008 or similar. You can run 36 or 37" tires with a little fender trim.

I think Dave Newman, one of our members, has this truck (or one like it) on his website. http://www.easternsurplus.net/5.html Maybe he shed some light on these questions.
