Finally got the MK15 Fifth Wheel RBU Variant (for the MK48 Family) home from auction the other day. I tried to get the nicest condition unit available. Looks to have been rebuilt in 2008, so not too bad. The 60K drag winch should be a great addition. Looks like I just need to straighten out the...
The only military vehicle that I have ever had that did not in some way "struggle" at a significant hill is The M1074 PLS with the Detroit 8V92TA 2-stroke w/ electronic controls. Trust me, I was very surprised at this - I just expected what I was used to. It is governed at 57-58 MPH, so I'm...
Hey Stuart!!!
How was your Christmas and New Year? Hope all is well with the family.
Did the HEMTT roof adapter have an optional "hard cover"? I have only seen the vinyl/elastic cover. I was thinking of having some 2 piece covers made out of aluminum, but time will tell. I still have to...
Hey Autodog!
Good for you on the ring mount find. Is the set specifically for the LVS, or is it for the HEMTT?? Just curious if the leg for the rear of the ring mount (two in front, one in rear) is the same as that for the HEMTT. Post a picture of the legs and we can compare notes. Feels...
Hey there Ryan -
The hard part about the Ring Mount system on the LVS (as far as I know) is not so much the M66 Ring Mount itself, which is almost itentical to the system for the HEMTT's, but rather the roof hatch system for the passenger side of the LVS. I believe that these were unique to the...

Jeff - yup - I was thinking the same thing. just have to find one that can fab 3 1/2 inch tube. All I really need is a flange pressed on one end and a "bell" expanded on the other of about a 8 or 12 inch piece. Cut off the old one and clamp away!
Yup - #11 in Jeff's exploded view - good job Jeff!
Looks like there should be a (asbestos?) gasket between #11 and #9 as well.
Do either of you guys have both parts? You guys are awesome!
Dave.
The entire "downtube" runs with various bends from the exhaust manifold to the front of the muffler behind the Battery Box. Really don't need to replace the whole thing, but will if necessary. Was hoping to find a "repair pipe section" to replace just the top end of the pipe.
Trying to get a Non-Turbo Deuce put together for a drive and needed to locate the source of an exhaust leak. Found that the upper flange on the "downtube" from the exhaust manifold to the muffler has cracked off. Anybody have any spare tubes or suggestions? This sucks, but I need to have the...
While the wife and I were traveling for the Christmas parties this year, I couldn't help but stop at the Armory in Ishpeming, MI (Upper Peninsula) and snap some pistures of a 10 ton LHS and trailer all set up with a couple of SUV's on their backs. Just kidding guys! It was pretty cool. At first...
Hey DH -
I have a 5-ton flat bed trailer (in classifieds) and a 4-ton bolster for sale (same axles, rims, tires as 5-ton flat trailer). Not next door, but they are decent - make me an offer.
Dave
Hey there Stuart!
Nope - wasn't me on the GL HEMTT. I did think about it for a little bit. It went for about 6k more than I paid for mine. And shipping would have been another 6-7K from your backyard! And that is with a trusted shipper. It was in a little better cosmetic condition than mine -...
Not sure if this should be under Transportation Needs or another Forum heading, so..........
I just wanted to put in a good word for a great guy and shipper/trucker.
Brian Stillwell of B & R Trucking (Flint, MI) (810-577-8670) has hauled 4 separate loads for me to date. Two full loads (HEMTT...
Thought I would post a couple of pictures from last weekend. Derrick came over and we loaded up an ISO Truck Bed for one of his projects. Have to tell ya - Derrick has one sweet Tractor and Flat Trailer - exciting to see in such great condition! Good for you, Derrick! By the way, the remote for...
Awesome Justin!!
Are you going to polish up the ones on the 474 too! (just kidding) This is going to be cool taking the gang out on the town. Really neat "adapter" tracks on that trailer. Really simple tension/installation adjustment.
Dave
Anybody from Michigan or maybe Northern Ohio going to the GA Rally this year ???
I'm looking for someone who might be willing to bring some parts back from the rally. I am more than willing to pay for the freight. Probably going to take at least a pickup or trailer - there is a total of (6)...
