burning some oil is a sign that it could be plugged, easiest way is to pull it out and see if there is a ton of gunk in it. usually they can be cleaned once, after that the internals arent up to par. I wouldn recommend that if you havent changed it since owning the truck to go ahead and do it.
For long posts what we recommend is to either type it in notepad and paste it into the box here on the site, or to copy it all after typing before you click submit. Just in case it has timed out, you can just paste it back into the box and not lose a thing.
you hooked the wires up to the starter wrong.
make sure the small wire is on the "S" terminal. and that the large wire is not touching the other terminals on the starter.
thats not a horrible price, be sure that includes flushing the torque convertor (or rebuilding it) otherwise that crap will get into your nice new trans.
the military make a air assist kit. But you can use a 5ton PS pump and a different steering box to do it.
The front axle of a multifuel deuce is already close to being overloaded according to spec, I think an 11ft straight blade would be fine though, a wing plow on the other hand would weigh...
um, get a master rebuild kit from a TRANSMISSION SHOP, NOT A PARTS STORE.

You can get a nice book and video and do it yourself, but as cheap as these are to have rebuilt by a pro..... A rebuild should cost you around $400 while he has the trans apart...
Question guys
I see that his heater switch is on the left of the steering wheel, mine is right next to the airshift for the tcase, is there a correct location for that switch?
tranny jack is almost a must, makes it SOOO much easier. you have to pull the transfer case and transmission as a unit, so its a bit awkward. two guys can pull one in about 2hrs, its not bad. Biggest pain is getting to the top bolts on the bell housing, need a 12" or 18" extension with a wobble...
