you have to be carefull leaving the e brake on in the winter it will freeze and then you are not going anywhere if you leave it in gear make sure the engine stop cable is pulled out you dont want it to start if it gets bumped by another car:roll:

i was refering to a 3053a which is what i have in my truck i think i seen that ratio in a catalog for boyce i didnt dig up the tm .sorry it know it was close to that 5.02 5.1 whatever it's pretty close thatefact is you would go from a 5.?? to 4.?? it would be a full point of drop in gear ratio...

right now we're trading top speed for accelleration if you ran a 3052 you would be still gaining top speed but not loosing accelleration .it would make it take off faster and stop better to since you could use the engine braking better at higher speeds where now engine braking does help much...

:roll:my truck takes off and stops faster in the snow than my 4x4 dodge does i tried it on my street i locked the brakes up on both trucks and compared the skid marks on my street deuce stoped way better than the dodge and the deuce stayed straight even at full throttle when dodge was sideways...

i would think that you have the field and exciter wires switched that will make the alt not put out.i would take the alt off take it to autozone to have it tested just to be sure its good i have seen alot of new alts not put out what they are suppose to .if its good you know you have a wiring...

you cant compare the top speeds of a multi to a gas to compare ratios since the gasser is a 4000rpm motor and multi is a 2600rpm motor.and if those are the correct ratios that rebel raider posted then running a 3052 would be a huge improvement for us guys with bigger tires since the 2nd ratio...

and its been done so many times it should have its own forum not many guys are running cut down deuce beds or shortened wheel base 6x6s be different it will be worth the extra work
