I am looking at an M109 that is shown as a 1965 Multifuel any clues as to what engine would be in it. I can't tell if it is the same as my duece or not. I have FOD tonight so I am on USA time table again for once.
God bless
RE: Deuce pick up
Wow that sure was a candidate for a drive me home exercise. How far are you from Wright Patterson? Let us know how you like the GI installed radials. What year is the truck? It looks great and you got a matching trailer as well what a hoot.
I am almost willing to bet that some of the trucks listed as will not start are actually in better shape than the ones listed as "RUNS" One of the runners has the paint all burned off of the hood like an engine fire and no pictures inside the engine compartment.
RE: Bedliner
I really like Rustbullet for this task as a first coat it is really good I don't have stock or anything like that I have used it with great results

RE: Lotsa stuff in Chambersburg
That is one reason I always go in uniform to the GL sites on base. I have been able to walk around and make pretty detailed inspections of specific vehicles. There are way too many to try and go through PMCS on them all. It is definatly worth the look if you...
I stop they tell me over the speaker to clear the scale and come to the building. The reason it is a pain for them is they are so used to just weighing and waving the trucks on or into the inspection area that a request for a weight slip messes with their schedule. I found out I could get one...
Thanks guys:
I did think the M 52 was running rich because the fumes coming out on the road were driving my chase car crazy even at a hundred and fifty feet back. I like the cummins motors in the M818's we ran our M 915's with 400 cummins everyday for years and they just ran and ran. My...
RE: wash
It survived many a hose down in the wash racks and when we first tried to paint our entire fleet to sand color for Desert Shield deployment in August 1990 the tanks were the first ones in line and they came out pink when they dried. Talk about complaints man I have never heard such...
I would load them on the trailer like we do on a rail car that is tailgate down and lunnette skyward all strapped securely together and chained to the trailer so absolutly no movement of the chains is visible when struck with a 2 lb hammer. If that is too high then angle them until you get them...
If I was to drive an M818 bobtail and keeping it at moderate speeds what kind of milage would you expect to get. I am looking at the cost to do about 850 miles in one if I am getting it. Anyone with one of these please chime in I know the gasser M52 would only get about 3 to 4 MPG and it would...
I agree that it needs to be welded not brazed. I think I would make a bigger backing plate, grind out the crack and then weld the crack shut affixing the backing plate with the weld, no burning chest or earlobes. Then grind the weld flat and you are done. I do not mind welding extra...
Here's a a picture of mine towing
I have towed a lot of trailers with it to include a dolly towing an M1009 that my son was piloting. This towed at 55 on I -95 but got down to 35 on the big hills
The bad thing about them is like Mark stated they were dunked and never had anyone perform post dunk maintainance.
My dad got his first car an almost new 1937 Chevrolet that a couple drove off the end of a closed for repair bridge and drowned in it. It was pulled up shortly after the...
Mine likes to run around 48 so I checked the 45 box. It always has a reserve that way if I have to pass a grandpa. It was 55 on the downhills towing the dolly and M127 on I95 but going up hill I was in third gear by the top of each hill with flashers and prayers.
