    Worked on the 86 1009 today,new GP solenoid and wired push button setup.DogHead relay mod.Starter support bracket was hanging from block so got that properly attached to starter,K&N air filter.Also spotted a missing bracket on pwr.steering pump.Installed a fuse in fuse block for brake lights so...

    What are the ill effects of having the small orange wire attached to the 12v feed post on the solenoid? Its a 1009, manual only GP truck.I drove it like this for about 35k.

    I really envy you guys out west!Congrats on the 33s,and the doghead starter relay mod.There is nothing worse than slamming your drivers door and having your starter take off on its own.Thats how it happened on mine.

    A fuel pressure gauge is a nice tool to have when diagnosing fuel delivering issues.Mr Gasket 1560 in line gauge helped me out.

    My most recent 1009 has manual glowplug activation,its wired to the pos.post on GP solenoid and the neg. post on solenoid with push button in between.This does not seem right .If I cant find light blue wire can I run ground to push button then to ground on solenoid? Which would be best?

    If you search cucv starter runaway you will want to make sure its been done.Lots of horror stories,mine included,It doesn't happen to all of the cucvs but if it does you will wish it hadn't.

    75mph 4.56 gears+31" tires=3706rpms.You gonna try it? LOL. With 3.73 you would be at 3032rpms.The 3.08 1009 will be spinning about 2500 rpms.And for every 1" in tire height increase you can decrease rpms by about 60 rpms.
